Unbelievable. Blows our best chance of coming back up and securing our long term future. Managers like Sean are simply irreplaceable.

Under-23s coach Mike Jackson, assisted by Academy Director Paul Jenkins, Under-23s goalkeeping coach Connor King and captain Ben Mee have been asked to take charge of the team for Sunday’s game with West Ham
Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
Done brilliant for us but a change was needed but would have waited until summer - maybe they did not fancy what their budget would be for the championship

Disgrace if he's been sacked. Pace out!

He will be missed....
Re: Dyche gone
Club statement on their website.
To think that Pace said he was not worried about relegation and that the club could bounce back.
Statement says 'Disappointing results'.
Does he not realise that that is what relegation means???

Re: Dyche gone
What! Now! And Billy Mercer too - the best goalkeeping coach we have ever had? Who have they got to replace them all? This is madness, at this stage in the season.
Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
So are football clubs like Burnley FC. Let’s hope Pace and Co don’t do too much damage in their probable short tenure as custodians of our famous old club.lewishamclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:43 amUnbelievable. Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
Gutted to hear this. The man has transformed our club and has given a lot of us the best times we’ve ever had as a Burnley fan. Things have admittedly got stale but I was positive about a fresh start next season. We also don’t know whether Dyche had the stomach to rebuild and take us back up so this decision may have been more mutual than us being reported.
This could go either way, as we’ve seen at Leeds. But we’re in unchartered territory and the next appointment is hugely important.
Exciting times.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
It has to be more than just results surely a major fall out. Or perhaps owners caught wind of a planned move?
Who on earth will take charge on Sunday.??

Shocked and gutted.
Sean Dyche had been monumental in delivering the best time supporting football in my lifetime.
Thank you Sean and your team for all the memories.

Not really. Hardly anyone wished for his sacking immediately.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:43 amI think the saying is be careful what you wish for.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
Genuinely thought he would be given to end of season, absolutely gobsmacked at the timing - don’t see how this helps us at all to be honest.. I don’t believe Sean had lost the dressing room - so can only imagine players shock

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
Pretty sure we're already down but the club is in that situation due to the failure to properly invest in the team in recent seasons and an apparent struggle to bring in the right players during the last two transfer windows.
I've followed the Clarets since the mid seventies and Dyche has been by far the most successful manager in that period, achieving and sustaining status in the top league where a succession of others have failed.
The alarm bells are ringing where the new owners are concerned but i hope they have a damned good plan.

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
Timing is horrific but I can’t help thinking the actual action has an ounce of justification.
Particularly astute / snide (delete as appropriate) for the board to do this once the ST renewal window has shut.

I'm going to await all the experts who have convinced themselves that the only reason we are crap is because of Dyche

Should’ve gone after Watford, he did a fantastic job over the years but I’m not going to be a hypocrite and act like I didn’t want him out.
Thanks for everything over the years Dyche.

"Under-23s coach Mike Jackson, assisted by Academy Director Paul Jenkins, Under-23s goalkeeping coach Connor King and Club Captain Ben Mee have been asked to take charge of the team for Sunday’s game with West Ham United."
I'm not confident of a "new manager bounce"
Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
Wow, I definitely felt like a change was needed to refresh in the summer but what awful weird timing. It also hurt a little bit seeing the word ''SACKED'' I must say, felt like a betrayal of a man who's served us so well, maybe just the harshness of the wording.

As Dyche said it’s a results business and the results over the last two years haven’t been good enough.
Anyway I thought we didn’t have enough cash to sack him

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf
End of the season, perfectly understandable
Now?
I just don't see it, and the fact that we appear to not have a replacement lined up makes it even worse
Thanks for all the memories Sean, it has been a real pleasure the vast majority of this nine years and you've taken us to places we never thought we'd get to and kept us in the premier league for more than half a decade
Gutted and very shocked

The right decision. Should have gone immediately after yet another poor performance under his leadership on Sunday.

Would appear the new owners can add 'common decency' to the list of things they lack.
It'll be the 2nd item in the list after 'money'.

Coming back up is great but back to the same rigid 442 set in stone way's isn't and that's what would happen once we got back if at alllewishamclaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:43 amUnbelievable. I was one of those that wanted a change and think Dyche has gone stale and it needed freshening up, I think the timing is bonkers and should of come at the end of the season, it's going to be a massive massive summer with a new coaching team and almost a new team needed.
Thank you Sir Dyche for some of the best year's I've ever had being a Claret but all great thing's come to an end

I’d argue it puts to bed the claim that we’d be fine if we are relegated.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:46 amWell that puts to bed the claim we couldn't afford to sack him
Back him and we’d have stayed up, this is all on Pace.
