How do you think we’ll line up tomorrow?

Post by CoolClaret » Sat Apr 16, 2022 12:06 pm

Genuinely perplexed but a part of me is ‘excited’ if you will.

Obviously still gutted about Dyche but there’s an intrigue.

I honestly have no idea; it will be telling in who is in the starting XI and formation that we play.

Perhaps even some ‘regulars’ will not even be in the match day squad, who knows…

Due to the team working all week preparing for this game, it will be the line up Dyche probably already selected along with formation, I can't see radical changes happening within 48 hours of a game.

The only intrigue would be the effort put in. If we see a big change in performance then it will tell the players wanted Dyche to go.

I'd be very surprised if it's much different to be honest. Might be a couple of personnel changes but nothing major.

Exactly the same style and formation - it’s what the players know

It may be what they know but I'll bet it's not what they like.
It will be very interesting, that's for sure.

It depends if the players were instrumental in what's gone on. If they are, I'd expect changes.

Whatever the line up is, I just hope we try and play football on the deck, passing into space for players to run on to, getting men forward and creating chances. I am actually looking forward to the game tomorrow, which is the first time in a long time.

Absolutely no idea but I’d guess we might see something different because the players haven’t been happy with what’s going on. Maybe a standard 4-2-3-1 with Dwight in the 10 for me.

McNeil a sub on 60 mins, and Stephens to replace a tiring Cork about the same time.

No idea, but it could give an indication of whether the decision on SD was the correct one.
If we line up the same, and play the same tactics, it was completely pointless. As will be the result of the game.

If I had a choice

Pope
Lowts
Collins
Tarks
Taylor
Roberts
Brownhill
Cork
Cornet
Vydra
Weghorst

I hope Dwight grows into the role of Cork, but I couldn't pick him ahead of Max out wide.

Can’t see many changes ,Cork in perhaps ?ultimately you can’t polish a turd .
While we may be poor this team has never ever lacked effort .Anyone thinking if we win is because “ the players wanted SD out” probably needs to sit down and have another pot noodle or whatever it is the morons on here live on .

We’ll be trying to win like we always do , though WHU are a v good side and we’ll need to be at our very best to get the result .

Do you seriously think the fans will boo the u23 stand in manager ?? I’d imagine a smattering of all round applause tbh as hardly their fault .

He has to do - the last thing we need is to create further divisions.

It’s well worth remembering that the best times under Dyche came about when it seemed that fans, players, management and owners were all aligned.

There’s no denying that over the last few years, that seems to have been lost.

Whatever the line up it won’t make some of these players any better, too many are sub PL standard and that is why we are where we are.
They are going to being managed by an U23 coach assisted by 3 others. That’s a recipe for complete disarray.
Maybe more energy will be on show but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same deficiencies and lack of leadership that have dragged us down all season .

I've heard the following booed:-
Potts
Adamson.....a lot
Miller
Casper
Bond
Mullen
Heath
Cotterill
Laws

Have to admit that I never saw a game under Benson or Cavanagh and only one under Waddle, early in the season at York but I will take some convincing that they weren't at some time.

Will be strange not hearing a sound like a pregnant hippo giving birth bellowing from the dug out. Could be replaced by a shamone maybe

On a positive note I have managed to acquire free tickets for tomorrow. Downside is I am in the home end. Done it once before at The Boleyn when Duff was sent off and they got a penalty without too much trouble. I wonder if I can request relocation to the away end....

I would be happy to see this set up, but might be tempted to start with Weghorst in place of Vydra, with Vydra playing at least 30 minutes off the bench.

I let my tickets go back because we both have covid-19. Obviously, well before any news of changes at the club. The ticket office said we hadn't sold out the away tickets. So, you may be able arrange a swap at London Stadium.

I wish I was recovered enough to go now...

The same starting line up as last time and style.

Then if we were to win like that, it will be glorious

Outfield , I wouldn’t be surprised to see all of Roberts, Collins, Cornet and Weghorst starting . As Dyche no longer has any control over team selection I would be expecting Pace to instruct selection of the players signed this season.
Team formation and tactics are more difficult for him to get involved in so I’m not expecting much change there.
I’m interested to see if McNeill returns to the team and expect old hand Lennon to be dropped possibly with Lowton returning to the bench.

Most of them could be in the shop window and playing for their futures, plus perhaps trying to impress the new watching to be manager ?

I don't see why he wouldn't. For all the debate on the decision we are all still behind the team and hoping we avoid relegation. It's still possible after all (however slim)

At half time against Everton (staring done the barrel as we were) I was debating with our kid whether 3 at the back might be helpful to stop us leaking so much. Trouble with Mee out is we have a doubly weakened central pairing and whilst Tarks has been outstanding he is more prone to leaving space in the left. But we both agreed it probably wouldn't be a Dyche thing to do.

I think we will be 4-4-2 (or maybe a kind of 44 11) and whilst we might see a change in personnel it will be similar because the old coaching team have effectively prepped the team for this. Mike and Ben are simply running on the leftover instructions and keeping the seat warm this weekend.

Southampton might be a change and sadly I will be missing due to the rearranged fixtures buggering up

I was there for that game - first win at Oakwell in 32 years or something daft like that?

I can remember a bunch of moronic 20-25 yr olds in front of me and my mates, at half time I think we were level or losing and when Laws was heading down the tunnel they ran over to shout profanities and hurl abuse at him… I was absolutely disgusted

Ben Mee is included as part of the interim team according to Pace

I would hope this guy Jackson will ask for his input into team selection and tactics as Ben will know far more about the squad

I hope we don’t ask much of Jackson tbh -

Record as Tranmere manager - Played 13 W3 D5 L5 winning percentage 23%

Also someone has edited his wiki bio - see if you can spot it

Whichever line up we select tomorrow, the onus has to be on getting at their defence, they've got a couple out I believe, and as stated we need to try and win games now, draws won't hugely help us unless Everton completely implode, so let's have a go for once.

Pope
Lowton Tarks Collins Taylor
Cornet Cork Brownhill McNeil (but perhaps give him licence to float)
Jay Vydra (we need movement up front, and Weghorst has been off it in recent weeks)

Given Jackson is in charge I'd hope a few youngsters will make the bench at least.

I assume that they spend all of the week up to Friday preparing for the West Ham match, would be a bit silly to change it all around in two days because SD has been canned.

Will be very interesting to see, more interested if there will be personnel changes.
