Re: Team news
Cork for Brownhill seems odd given Brownhill played best alongside Cork, would have thought Westwood would come out.
Lennon's been playing well but he was poor against Norwich and McNeil made an impact so good call.
We desperately need some sort of rally today.

Re: Team news
Not sure what voodoo magic Westwood uses upon the people who make team selections at Turf Moor but I’m glad Cork is in regardless!

Re: Team news
This agenda against Westwood is really odd.
Re: Team news
Same old then. We've played our best with Cork and Brownhill in the middle.

Re: Team news
Less an agenda for me, I rated him hugely a couple of years ago and data showed he was one of the most efficiently performing English CMs in the league.
More about struggling performances this season and a failure to continue that same efficiency, coupled with the upswing in team and individual (Brownhill) form when Cork and Pieters were in. I've said that regardless of individual attributes I'd like us to get back to the Spurs/Brighton team and I stand by it.

Re: Team news
Our whole midfield is crap and Westwood just happens to be crapper than the others and has been for two seasons: this is why we are in the bottom three.
On the positive side, I am actually looking forward more to this game than any other this season.

Re: Team news
Agenda? Or merely an observation that we have played out best football and had our best results when he wasn’t starting?
I like westy, but what happened when he was out surely can’t be argued against?

I'm not a Westwood basher at all. But I find it very strange that Brownhill is the one to miss out

Ben Mee not even on the bench concerns me as if whoever has taken temporary charge doesn't get on with him it may impact him signing a new contract

Not surprised they haven’t swayed too much from the usual lineup. Hopefully a big performance today with the shackles off.

Very odd that. Brownhill been excellent for a while now. Maybe he was dyche’s favourite and Mee doesn’t agreeRoosterbooster wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 1:17 pmI'm not a Westwood basher at all. But I find it very strange that Brownhill is the one to miss out

Re: Team news
Correct decision to leave Brownhill out of the starting 11,
we can't keep waiting for him to fulfill his potential. He really struggles passing a ball 10yrds, he can't shoot and he creates nothing, and if he can only play well alongside Cork, then he needs to learn how to adapt.

Not a criticism just a simple question...I wonder how much Jackson as U23 coach has watched the first XI in recent times?

I heard a while back that Ben Mee had a fracture. The long lay off would probably explain this.

Surprised at Brownhill being dropped but glad Cork is in. I thought Cork and Brownhill did well together. Hopefully McNeil can get back to form.

Re: Team news
Westwood hasn't always been crap, but things have caught up with him and he's not been at all good basically the whole of this season. Cork has shown signs of being past it for some time, but can still come in and produce a throw back performance like he did a few weeks ago. I'd definitely have selected him, but alongside Brownhill, not instead of. I also think McNeil has recently shown he can impact a game coming on sometime into the second half and Lennon is better defensively and we're definitely going to need that this afternoon. So again, I wouldn't have made that change tbh.

Hopefully McNeil will now be allowed to do what he first did when he came into the team and play much further up the pitch, shackles off.

Re: Team news
I'm another who can't understand the Westy inclusion. I also find it odd to play Max out right, when Roberts is a good fit there.
I won't knock it until we see how the team perform, but it isn't the side I would have picked.
Fingers crossed I'm wrong.

Cornet played wide right a lot for Lyon. Roberts isn’t a winger.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 1:42 pmI'm another who can't understand the Westy inclusion. I also find it odd to play Max out right, when Roberts is a good fit there.
