I would go so far to suggest they've been told not to comment

It was more interesting what he didn’t say tbh. There was a lack of any level of thanks to Dyche or anything about that sort of thing. Obviously just a snippet interview that said but interesting nonetheless.

That and the Dyche picture grinning like a Cheshire Cat in the pub makes me think something has gone on.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 6:16 pmIt was more interesting what he didn’t say tbh. Jackson on what comes next:
We will have a recovery day tomorrow and go from there.
I think when it is ready to be said, which I don’t know and I don’t know what is bing discussed behind the scenes at this moment in time. But I am sure the board and chairman will give the information that supporters want, the priority is the next game for us and we have to concentrate on what is next.

Fair play to him. Whenever I’ve had the misfortune to experience colleagues and friends being made redundant, they’ve almost without exception headed straight to the pub. If that phot is indeed from yesterday, then he’s doing what most would do - getting on with life.

I thought he didn't go to pubs....as the Landlady of the Royal Dyche will testify.

If it's true about Dyche and Everton then I'd put it public and upset the group over thereHibsclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 6:16 pmIt was more interesting what he didn’t say tbh. Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
The Dyche to Everton rumours make no sense whatsoever (apologies if they’ve been discussed elsewhere)
Why would Everton even be contemplating replacing Lampard when they’re currently sat safe, have a manager that in all likelihood can attract some decent names and, of course, attention next season and Dyche’s stock has probably reduced greatly despite what supporters might think about his importance to Burnley.
His opportunity came when they potted Koeman - I’m absolutely certain he was their main target. But then Rhino managed to preside over a set of results that saw them enter the relegation zone and they panicked and when for Sam Allardyce.

Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
If there is anything in the rumour, wouldn't BFC be in their rights to report Everton to the PL for illegal approach? If true Everton should be docked points IMO.

What do you want the players to say exactly? What is it about some sort of public display that would ease whatever it is that you feel needs easing?
It's over. Done.

Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
Watford suffered that fate, also at the hands of Everton. All they succeeded in doing was preventing Silva joining Everton immediately and settled a compensation claim that saw him become Everton manager immediately.
From what I’ve ever seen, reporting malpractice to the Premier League, where it involves a member of ‘The Establishment’ is utterly, utterly pointless. They’re simply not interested in making such decisions. Whether it be Hawkeye at Villa Park, Tevez and Mascherano at West Ham, you name it. They don’t give a flying one.
Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
I'd have a guess at Lampard being less in the know than any of us to be honest, once he got wind of it like you say he won't be motivated but can't imagine then that Dyche would be allowed to take over or that Lampard would walk knowing he was getting sacked because he'd get compo for staying til fired.

You would have thought plain professionalism would be enough motivation for any manager that wants to avoid having relegation on the CV.bumba wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 7:48 pmI'd have a guess at Lampard being less in the know than any of us to be honest, once he got wind of it like you say he won't be motivated but can't imagine then that Dyche would be allowed to take over or that Lampard would walk knowing he was getting sacked because he'd get compo for staying til fired.

Everton have no money to spend on new players, Dyche has much more experience as a Prem manager who can’t buy his way out of trouble.Cheshireclaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 7:10 pmThe Dyche to Everton rumours make no sense whatsoever (apologies if they’ve been discussed elsewhere)

Many of these players owe their careers to Dyche. A social media post thanking him and saying goodbye would be what I’d expect. At least from a few. Today Pope had the chance to say something publicly and chose not to.
But I agree with others, that current players have probably been asked to stay quiet. But I can’t understand why so many ex players who equally owe their careers to him have opted not to.
Unless they know something we don’t. It’s all just very odd really - the timing and then circumstances.

Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
Nobody has died. A football manager has been sacked. We may or may not find out why in the near future but I am one of those fans who was never given any reason for Jimmy Mc being transfer listed for decades. The players and current staff have a very tall order in front of them and that is what I sincerely hope they concentrate on.I'm a fan of Burnley Football Club on the pitch; it's my only real connection with them throughout a season. Lots of time ahead for recriminations and enquiries and although I am more than curious about the last few days I don't really want to know if it interferes with the massive, but not impossible job ahead.
Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
Was asked today if I thought the players might have fallen out a bit with Sean Dyche ... today's match performance at times and the lack of comments from the players regarding the sacking may well speak a thousand words.

I doubt he'll need any luck.
His excellent work for BFC has made him a multi-millionaire.
Shame it's ended like this.

Shows a real lack of class for me. Almost like he's split up from his girlfriend and wants to say, "Look at me, look at me. I'm OK. I'm over it!" Arrogant, pathetic.

There have been some over-reactions on here but that's right up there with the best. Extraordinary. Man in 'gets on with his life' scandal. Would it be ironic of me to suggest you perhaps try to do the same?

Plenty do. He's lost his job. He hasn't resigned, he has been relieved of his duties. He has every right to get on with his life and whilst I am as concerned and upset by what has happened in the last 48 hours, I do not begrudge him doing what he wants to do.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 11:43 pmMost people "getting on with their life" don't stick pictures of them doing it on Twitter.

Come on man…!
Would you rather he went into hiding? He is hardly looking for attention. A big section of his life has just ended, he might be out on the beer for months.

Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
Do you honestly think this is Dyche just enjoying a few beers with the lads? Nah, he's simply playing a game!

Re: Any players commented on the sacking yet?
Nope, just amused that people are looking for some big conspiracy. A football club has sacked a manager with the team on the verge of relegation. I’m sad he’s gone but mainly because it’s the end of an era, one that has seen the greatest success I’ve seen in over 45 years as a supporter. But he’s gone and we move on and whatever the future brings I’ll still be there on the Turf cheering us on.

I'm not bothered that he has gone on a weekend bender but am a little surprised he hasn't gone home to see the wife and family after 10 years of living away from home.
Woans daughter posted on twitter that Dyche was sat in their garden on Friday I think. Let's just hope his commitment to Burnley hasn't cost him his marriage.
