It's not been a great few years for clubs in the Greater Manchester area has it, first Bury go to the wall, and have to reform, now Oldham fall out of the FL.

It does raise an important question though, which is the highest league ground above sea level now?

And I certainly wouldn't be gloating as who knows what Burnley's future holds.

Always enjoyed trips to Boundary Park, proper football ground. As mentioned disgraceful terrible owners.

Always had soft sport for Oldham, used to go on boundary occasionally in the 80s, always felt for them being so close to Manchester. Latics might be down but they will hopefully come back stronger

Current owner been there since 2018 and oversaw their relegation from League One and now from League Two, plenty of podcasts out there from former players such as David Wheater and Anthony Gerrard who explain what a circus it is at that club with the current owner.

28yrs since they dropped out of the PL
24yrs since they dropped out of what's now called the championship into what we call league one, finishing outside the top 10 more often than not.
They've been in league two since the end of the 2017/18 season and again they've finished outside the top 10 everytime.
The current owner took over in January 2018.

Prior to his ownership Oldham were on their arse financially, subject to several winding up orders and having their ground raided by HMRC a couple of months before he took over.

He sounds like a bit of a tool, but Oldham had been in a mess for years.

Can't see them climbing up the league's anytime soon based on their previous 28yrs of league history

There was a plan mooted some years ago, to form a North Manchester team combining Bury,Rochdale and Oldham as all three were struggling for cash and support.
Hindsight is always 20/20 ,but perhaps it wasn't a bad idea after all.

My most memorable trip was the fa cup tie in 74 when Taffy took Ian Wood to the cleaners and we won 1-4.
