3 favourite Burnley goals ever?
Myself and my partner currently having this debate. I went for the below:
1) Elliott at Wembley
2) Arfield at Ewood
3) Blake united
Interested to see everyone else’s.

1. Wade
2. Ings at Ewood
3. Hyde at Ewood - never seen us get close to scoring against them.. 1-0 down against PL opposition... only Ian Moore, a pretend striker, up front... then Hyde lobs one of the PL's best keepers from outside the box in front of our fans. Absolute scenes!

Re: 3 favourite Burnley goals ever?
1) Gray at Brum. Every outfield player touched the ball at least twice.
2) Coates v. liverpool, April ‘66. Ran from his own half.
3) Patterson at Reading. Stunning strike.
There are so many this thread needs sub-dividing into: headers, distant strikes, FKs, dribbles, etc.,
I won’t alter my 3 but have already thought of another.
Brian O’Neils 89th minute winner against ManU that struck both posts before it crossed the line.

Without it, we probably wouldn’t be on here now.
Wade v Sheffield Utd
Without it, who knows what would have happened to us.
Ings v Bas****s
We all know why.
So difficult was this by the way.

Missed it because some humpty was kicking off in the Beehole End. .
Yep... Absolute stonking goal at CF end... A few days after we'd beat Sheff U in first game back.

Re: 3 favourite Burnley goals ever?
I can't pick!
There are brilliant goals and significant goals.
I thought Steven Defour lob goal v Hull was the most exquisite ever.
Robbie Blake versus Manchester United was also beautiful and significant.
Wade Elliott at Wembley, because it was sheer joy and I got to hug my late wife, who was equally overcome.

Pickering at Stoke is a great shout - what a strike that was
Using the 'I was there' criteria
Vydra v Wolves - that could be huge
Francis at York
Eyres v Stockport at Wembley
Akinbiyi at Chelsea most wildly celebrated although it didn't mean quite as much as some of the others
Honourable mentions for Roger Eli's bullet header past Peter Shilton. Mike Conroy's winner at Northampton. Robbie Blake v United. First PL goal

Agree with all those before but:
Elliot…………to be at Wembley with my son …….wish my dad was there with us ……..
Adi………Chelsea in the cup………..how many men(wives) took sons or daughters out of school that day……….
Any by the likes of Andy Wharton………places like Doncaster etc…………shockers but can’t put a price on those days…..

Re: 3 favourite Burnley goals ever?
Lots of them, too many to choose, but I fully understand why Ings at Ewood features so heavily, it gave all our younger fans, and even not so young, the opportunity to see what I'd seen six time previously, a win at Ewood.

Kindon v Celtic.
Hamilton at Spurs.
Francis at York.
Heath at Sheffield United.
Little v Bristol Rovers.
Barnes v Crystal Palace.
Any goals at *******'s, Preston, Blackpool and even Stockport.
All of the away games in 1991 apart from Cardiff where we neaiy died.

None of the young 'uns had seen Ralphy sat on the ball with a 'We've Won' grin on his face, while it was still in play though.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 11:10 pmLots of them, too many to choose, but I fully understand why Ings at Ewood features so heavily, it gave all our younger fans, and even not so young, the opportunity to see what I'd seen six time previously, a win at Ewood.

Kalvanes at Blackpool for the forward roll alone.
Really though it's probably Little at Brum, Wade at Wembley and Akinbiyi at Chelsea.
Special mentions for Defour lob, Blake volley, Kev Mac at City, Pato / Thommo Reading and Jay Rod Spurs.
That Coyle side and promotion season was beyond special. We've been really spoiled.

Re: 3 favourite Burnley goals ever?
Also using the criteria of goals that I have seen - and as others have said 3 is impossible - but these just stand out:
1: This from Uwe vs Newcastle in Nov. 74. Wonderful sweeping move, Brenno charging down the left in front of the Longside and smashing over a rocket cross, Uwe with a with a sensational bullet diving header finish. Just perfect, a thing of beauty. 2: Casper to beat Chelsea late in first home match of season following promotion. After he retired, Bonetti mentioned it as one of the best goals/shots he'd ever conceded. 3: Wade at Wembley. Never ever thought I'd see us back in the top division.

Re: 3 favourite Burnley goals ever?
Oh and while I think of it I have to give an honorable mention and special "Comedy Goal" award to this beauty from Calamity Corrigan when we beat City 3-0 at the Turf. Big Joe gave a great impression of a "man in a shower trying to catch a bar of soap" while trying to dummy a drop kick around Fletch on the edge of the box, Fletch got a toe on the ball as it fell it and it rolled with just enough pace to beat Joe's frantic chase after it and trickled over the line

On a separate note, is there any footage of Hyde’s goal versus them? Remember trying to listen to it whilst driving round Basra.
