tonight's footy 28/4

Post by tiger76 » Thu Apr 28, 2022 6:42 pm

A surprisingly busy Thursday.

Utd-Chelsea in the PL, and Leicester, Rangers and West Ham all in European action.

Chelsea win. Should give them momentum after a scrappy win against WHU.

I don't think what happens tonight will affect how Chelsea perform against Everton one way or another.

Hope they batter United (as well as Everton) :P

Yet again I note that a Premier League club has two goalkeepers on the bench. Man City often do and United have again tonight with Heaton & Henderson. Strange that when we did it, usually because of injuries, Dyche would be heavily criticised on here.

They had about 30 thousand in Barcelona the last round. Think it was Frankfurt who took over the Emirates a few seasons ago as well, although I could be wrong.

Had a search just after we played West Ham, because they were playing Frankfurt.
When we played the Germans back in the 60s, our league game against West Ham was about 2 weeks apart the fixture.
My utterly useless info posts conclude with that.

West Ham hit the post.
Great move!
Woke the bubbles singers up.
That early German goal popped them.

Think it was Cologne.

Really good game so far. West Ham hit post with Bowen v unlucky.

Can’t believe the atmosphere compared to when I went and said it was never a football stadium in a million years.

Some awful performances from United players again tonight.

Like a club who’s desperate not to qualify for Europe at all next season.

Utd have been garbage in the 1st half, matched by some awful finishing by the Chelsea strikers....let's hope they find their shooting boots on Sunday at Goodison !

I wad going to post I don’t think Chelsea will win both games, I was hoping utd would win and give Chelsea a kick up the backside before Everton. Sadly I can see Chelsea taking it too easy if they win tonight.

Thankfully utd equalised while I typed.

Not much in it, but theyve shaded it so far.

Can see Everton fighting their way to a point against a Chelsea team who are looking tired and don’t really have much to play for

So unlucky, Bowen!
Brilliant overhead, hits the bar.

Me too. Everton will make it very tough for Chelsea to score and they’re not exactly free scoring at the minute as it is. Do expect they’ll get something.

Pleased the didn’t win tonight though or they really would’ve been on the beach.

Chelsea should have won about 6-0

All the European ties are still live, so expect Leicester to rest loads when they play Everton

Mind you, I expected Leicester to give a half hearted performance at Everton recently with little to play for in the league and having a poor run of form away from home. Yet it was Everton who looked devoid of any ideas until the last ditch equaliser.
