Matt Lowton

Starring role at Watford apparently

Man of the match on BBC and Garth Crooks put him in the also rams for team of the week. Must be a perfect bench sitter

Also noted Stevens was second in BBC ratings

Tell ‘em nothing Pike

Those BBC ratings are something of a nonsense - our top three were Lowton, Stephens and Barnes.

Also the voting is open from the start of the game. Which idiot would rate players before the end of the game (unless it's Newcastleclaret giving Brownhill his default 4?)

I didn't even realise him and Stephens had come on in all the carnage of the away end :D

Didn’t watch the game - couldn’t get a stream and didn’t see mentioned on the Matchday thread.

Who came off for Lowton and Stephens? Roberts and someone presumably?

Thanks CT and Taio.

So did Lowts play RW or did we push Roberts up? 3 in midfield when Stephens came on?

Have to say this is really pleasing - would maybe consider this for parts of our forthcoming away games.

I just give them all 10 as it is a sad joke. Mostly opposition fans marking our guys down is the impression I get.

Exactly what we did against Wolves, with Dwight making way.

The BBC ratings are truly unfit for purpose. I think people go on there and just take the p@ss.

Lowton played right-back with Roberts moving up to right hand side of midfield

Of course they are thats why I started the topic.

I hoped that this was organised by Burnley fans with a sense of humour. I still believe it was as I dont think either Lowton or Stevens even kicked the ball

Lowton's best contribution was to pick up the ball after we were awarded a goal kick and walk off with it in about the 92nd minute. Watford's player (I think it was their 10) desperately trying to get the ball back for us to hurry up was so funny given that they had spent the whole game wasting time.

I do seriously wonder if the Garth Crooks working for the BBC is the same one who used to play professional football.

Vydra came on in 92 minutes yet he has 30 votes on Man of Match
Will pick up a point in run up to player of season
It is a farce like the BBC one
If the leader gets a huge number he should get the full points imo
Vydra has won lots of points because it is easier to post than player ratings
He has several points more than he should have again imo

Vydra came OFF in the 92nd minute, not ON.

After intense coaching/practice over the summer pre-season weeks, I can see Lowton regularly starting at right back and Roberts regularly starting at right wing back.
