Villa away Spares

Post by OscarWaller87 » Wed May 04, 2022 2:11 pm

Seen as all 11 of the returned tickets were sold out before they went on sale at 2 today, looking for 4 spares, obviously willing to pay. UTC

With the amount of people wanting tickets... The club should request the upper stand away allocation

If it is still unsold to Villa fans they should. It would surely sell out, even for an eight o’clock at night Thursday fixture.

According to Villa's site when ordering tickets for Burnley, that upper tier above the away fans is sold out.

.

I think that it shows as 'unavailable'. Which would indicate that it hasn't been on sale to home fans. There are seats available in every home section of the ground except that section, which possiblity indicates that it wasn't on sale to even home fans for the original game.

But surely in that case we'd take the upper tier as well?

You’d hope we’re at least enquiring about availability for both Spurs & Villa given the obvious demand.

Ridiculous if not. You could see what the following meant to the players at Warford. That roar of "COME ON BURNLEY! After the first goal was amongst the loudest i've heard in 30 years watching Burnley. I felt it made a big difference.

It feels as though the powers that be in the ticket office feel that away fans are a hinderance. Take a 3,000 allocation and sell 2,990 and win the game, or take 1,250, sell them all but lose the game.
The ticket office always go for the latter option. The club don’t seem to understand how important a big away following is. It has been going on like this for years. Big games and they are scared a hand full of tickets won’t be sold and it will cost them a couple of grand, when if we go down it will cost us over £100 million. No wonder the club isn’t doing well financially!

Generally don’t think there’s an issue with the allocations we take. A few might miss out, but not many.

… but on this occasion, in such big games, I’d expect them to at least be investigating the option of taking an increased allocation.

Obviously depends on if the further tickets are available.

But this is risk reward. Minimal risk, ten or twenty grand loss maximum. More likely we sell out. Reward - potentially many more years at the top table due to the extra impetus the fans give the players.

Almost a textbook definition of a nil brainer.

I doubt very much whether the powers that be are in the ticket office

So you are saying there isn’t any management in the ticket office? There is no one in charge? Do you people behind the counter make the decisions?
You knew that when I said “powers that be in the ticket office” that I meant whoever is in charge of the ticket office and ticketing decisions. You know damn well I didn’t mean that Pace was the ticket office manager. Come off it for once.

I was trying to point out that decisions on ticket allocations are not, or certainly weren’t, taken by ticket office staff. That might have changed with the new ticket office manager but it was always a decision taken at a higher level that was executed by the ticket office. I’m not sure why you mentioned Pace at all.

The entire top tier of the away section was left empty when they played Norwich last week

In the past the decision on what ticket allocation to take was taken above the Ticket Office and was primarily driven by the risk of losing money. Don't know if that has changed with the new owners and new TO Manager.

Do you know who is in charge of asking Tony? Is there any way they could be canvassed to at least apply?

No idea - used to be an operations manager over the ticket office but that role has gone now.
