05/05 European Football
20mins played. Leicester a goal down, West Ham a man down.
Quite enjoyed both runs, gives teams in the top flight who will never be top 4 something to play for and see some Europen football.

I don’t understand the sending off. The ref arrived at the correct decision but I thought that if a player has been booked then the decision couldn’t be reviewed?

Re: 05/05 European Football
Looking good for Rangers right now, and Scotty could be playing in a European final if they see this through.
Not looking so good for the English sides, and from a BFC POV we could do without Leicester burning themselves out prior to their Sunday game against Everton, but equally I totally understand why they'd value tonight's match more than Sunday's.
But after last nights late drama none of the sides will be taking anything for granted.

My understanding is a yellow can't be reviewed to be removed but can be reviewed be upgraded to red (?).gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 8:52 pmI don’t understand the sending off. In domestic football, Wycombe beat MK 2-0 in the first leg of their play off semi final, Sam Vokes with a great header to make it 2-0 and got MOM.

Re: 05/05 European Football
I hope the Rangers fans behave a bit better than they did when they descended on Manchester for their last European final! Good achievement by then though
Re: 05/05 European Football
They absolutely love Vokesy there. Seen many comments from their fans saying he’s too good for that level.claretburns wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 9:48 pmIn domestic football, Wycombe beat MK 2-0 in the first leg of their play off semi final, Sam Vokes with a great header to make it 2-0 and got MOM.

Re: 05/05 European Football
2nd Bundesliga side they've beaten during this run, so they shouldn't fear EF in the final, every chance Scotty will be picking up major European silverware in 12 days, and he would never have got that opportunity if he'd stayed at Burnley.
Re: 05/05 European Football
Ibrox was a cauldron last night. That cannot be replicated in the final. Only half a cauldron!
Where the prem teams fell away, it does show that the best of Scottish football is as competitive, despite the oblivious funding differential.
It is spectacular for our Scott Arfield. I wish him and them, all the best, as I do zliverpool.
Bring home the trophies.

Re: 05/05 European Football
I wonder what it does to people's opinions of Scottish football? I've always maintained that Rangers and Celtic would be good championship sides, but would certainly struggle in the PL. But maybe I'm massively wrong. They rarely look completely out of sorts in Europe
Also makes you think that the draw of these clubs is stronger than that of ourselves, if they can guarantee good European football

Re: 05/05 European Football
Celtic and Rangers generally can compete in Europe, certainly at EL level anyway, but outwith the big 2 the drop off is huge, Hearts will comfortably finish 3rd, yet I wouldn't bank on them lasting that long in Europe next season.Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:19 amI wonder what it does to people's opinions of Scottish football? Given their respective fanbases, and the investors they would attract if they joined the PL, both Old Firm sides would be competitive and probably finish top 10 and perhaps push for European places, also if they did join the PL, then they would be able to attract players who may not be interested in playing in the SPL.
Doubt it'll happen anytime soon though, this has been mooted for decades and nothing has come to pass yet.
