7.0 up and, at the minute, in the 3rd promotion place.

Match delayed due to fans on the pitch, Joey trying to urge them back to the stands so BR can confirm their extraordinary promotion.

Needed to beat Northampton’s result by 5 goals. Unreal effort. Helped they were playing a awful awful team.

34 shots, 14 on target and 19 corners. They were already in the play offs and playing the bottom of the league. Might as well go for it.

This is going to run and run. Scunthorpe played an extremely weakened side with several players having no first team experience.

To be fair, when they were about 4/5th bottom of the league after about 7 games, Joey did say they would get promoted this season. I’ve been keeping an eye on them since then. Well done Joey.

They did but Bristol Rovers can't do anything about that. Remarkable turn round from Bristol Rovers in second half of the season.

Scunny should be fined big time if they did not field their strongest team

3 changes from their last match is hardly extremely weakened.

Scunthorpe fielded 6 players with less than 5 first team games between them. Calls the game into some question if you ask me that

Don't know the full details, but Scunthorpe are in a truly terrible state, and this may well have been just about the only team they could field,
The alternative may have been not fulfilling their fixtures.
Very sad situation.
Bristol could only beat what was in front of them, No suggestion of match fixing IMO.

Scunthorpe have been fielding young players since their relegation was confirmed and that is 3 or 4 weeks ago. Their senior players were crap all year so Hill decided to bin a few of them and give the kids a chance once the clubs fate was sealed.

Nothing to see here for me. Bristol Rovers looked a very good side when they played at Stevenage much better than Northampton.

Congratulations to The Gas and Mr Joseph Barton on his first managerial promotion.

When they were at the bottom, he said they would do it.

The match should be replayed with Scunthorpe's strongest side.

Why? Scunthorpe can play who they want can't they?

Finishing bottom of League Two with 26 points, do Scunthorpe have a "strong" side?

The manager decided that those crap players, who won't be there next season, will not play and those that will be there, will play now and gain new comrades in the summer.

They have been slaughtered all season.

I am with their manager. The young folk got a point last week.

If we finished bottom of league 2 with 26 points I’d want us to play our kids last day too.

I don’t think they have a strong team, 26 points from 46 games is rank bad not sure I can recall an EFL team getting less than that?

Northampton lodge complaint with EFL over S'thorpe

Turns out S'thorpe fielded a large number of teenage players against Bristol, who then got the 7 goals they needed.

The EFL have a rule in place, that from end of March, there needs to be 10 players from previous game named in squad
"For any League match played on or after the 4th Thursday in March, any team sheet for a league game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the League match before."
If Scunthorpe have been "filtering" out players since then, then I'm not sure they have anything to answer to

Matheson
Delaney
Young
Shrimpton
Beestin
Wilson
Nuttall
All started v Hartlepool previous game and v Bristol

Bunn
Feeney
Grant
All benched in both games

O'Malley
Crib
Started one and benched one

Seems like they haven't a leg to stand on
