If Long was any better, he wouldn't be here. If he was any worse, he wouldn't be here. He's a fourth choice centre half for a club with a low budget.
He has also .afe the Ireland team and performed well for them, too.
Co.i g in, every now and then, is not easy.
My concern is more the position we ask him to play, on the left. He looked very right footed and disjointed, when he played there, in the 2nd half, against Villa.
I wish him a great game.

I think 4 is the very minimum we'd concede..and that's a fairly optimistic view...and it's not unrealistic to suggest that a figure of 8 or even 9 could be in reach. Spurs will fancy themselves for a panful today after their showing on the turf.
It's hard to see us creating a chance all day to be fair..
But I'm remaining upbeat given that it'll still be in our hands come tea time, despite Leeds inevitable win against the Seagulls.
Did you have a bet on that?

I don't think I'll be asking you to pick my lottery numbers anytime soon.

He shared a story on Instagram and his leg looked to be strapped up.

I'd be surprised if he's back but if he isn't today's performance repeated on Thursday will do

I don't think Kevin Long has ever let the club down.
In 13 seasons at the club he has managed 67 games, which is effectively nearly 2 seasons worth experience in 13.
In 7 Premiership seasons he has only played more than 10 games once in a season.
From that perspective he does remarkably well.

He’s been provided excellent service to the club. Any derogatory comments are completely unnecessary.

I presume Jay-Rod, Erik Pieters, James Tarkowski & Ben Mee won't play again this season.

Have we got 'no contract, unsafe to play itis'?
Wouldn't blame them.

It would be a real boost if one or two of them could make the bench at Villa

Just read on Twitter (via premierinjuries.com) that Pieters and Stephens were left out as a precaution, so hopefully we'll have more bodies at Villa. As well as Lowton did yesterday, I'd still rather see Erik as the third centre half, especially on the left hand side.

MJ: “Jay is stepping up now, there's a possibility for him, Tarky is on the grass stepping things up, as is Ben and Johann. They’re all out running and going through fitness tests so it’s a big boost for the group."

Some of those big players could be vital, even if they can only make 10 minutes to help hold onto a lead.

I think we need to remember they beat us 3 - 1 comfortably at our house with a lot more 1st team players fit, its going to need a dramatic turnaround to beat them, however I have learnt as a Burnley fan that we always do it the hard way so bring it on UTC NNN COYC!!!!
PS just needs to get both matched out of the way ASAP my bloody nerves are shot!

First half they were clinical, we weren’t. There wasn’t much in it despite the 2-0 scoreline. McNeil misses that golden chance just before HT. Second half admittedly they were comfortable as we seemed to lose any belief after Tarky went off.
