Goalie coming in and playing outfield

Post by longsidetrumpet » Tue May 10, 2022 9:22 pm

Doing a bit of daydreaming while washing up.
It’s 1-0 to Spurs on Sunday with one minute of added time remaining, and we win a corner. We’ve two subs yet to use so we bring on Kev Long and Wayne Hennessey, that’s assuming you can bring in a goalie as an outfielder and he’s already put an outfield kit on. Of course Kev flicks on for Wayne to equalise.
There could be a similar scenario last game v Newcastle with a minute left should we need to draw or win.
Ah well that’s the dishes done

Didn't Stuart Pearce once bring on David James up front for City?

Never mind Henessey

I studied Will Norris in the warm up before the Watford game.

He was crossing the ball for Pope to catch. He is clearly two footed

Come shooting practice he showed tremendous outfield skills

Wasted as a keeper

If things continue the way they have been going for us recently (with injuries to strikers) we might be playing Hennessey and Norris as our 2 strikers by the time we play Newcastle.

It was against Middlesbrough
James started the game in goal.
Pearce brought Nicky Weaver on for Claudio Reyna, Weaver rookie James place in goal and James put on an outfield shirt with 1 on the back

Yep and they had Macken on the bench. What message that sends to a striker I don’t know, absolute madness.
