Couldn't see a thread, but for those who aren't aware he's sadly seriously ill in hospital.

Wishing him all the best and and swift recovery always one of England's more stylish batsmen and a test average of nearly 45 is decent by anyone's standards.

Very sad. Great player, loved watching him. Hope he pulls through.

Heard this on the radio news earlier.

No details as to what he's suffering from but obviously wish him all the best and hope he pulls through whatever it is.

Stylish, reliable batsman for England and anyone with a test average over 40 has to be considered a great player.

Good batsman for England and not long since become coach of Afghanistan having lost his role with England.

Only 52 and not looking good. Hopefully he’ll recover from this.
