It would matter, it would mean Leeds need to win one of their last two to have any chance.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 9:35 pmActually it hardly matters, we'd still have to match leeds over the last 2 games.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Just a point for Everton. Still catchable.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
I feel confident that if we can find 1 more win we will stay up. Just not sure where it will come from !!!

De Bruyne 4
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
They've been beaten at home by Brighton, Wolves and Southampton.CombatClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 9:33 pm"Burnley with a game in hand" sounds great on the radio until you realise it's Spurs away...
Surely if they can beat them then we have a chance, no matter how small.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Great evening of results. Bit of a blow for Everton only picking up a point as they would have practically guaranteed safety with a win. And they’ve ended Watford’s horrible home losing streak. Everton with 3 tricky games still to come aren’t completely out of it.

Good point. Terrible maths by me. But regardless, a point against Spurs would be huge.

Its the current spate of injuries that's screwing us up.
Ordinarily, I'd back us for a point, but Tarks is a big miss.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Been a good day for us. Just worried if Tarks is missing for the last 3.

Wolves getting spanked is good for us, gives Brighton a chance to go 8th if they win at Leeds

If Leeds lose and we win on Sunday, they will be down. Unlikely, but you never know!

One day at a time. We all should be rooting for an arsenal win tomorrow as it means Spurs won’t have anything to play for on Sunday

That’s an awful result for Everton against Watford reserves. They’re right back in it now.

Brentford & Palace at home, you'd think there are points for them there.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 9:46 pmThat’s an awful result for Everton against Watford reserves. They’re right back in it now.
Many Leeds fans of the same opinion as I am. They just need to beat Brighton as we'll struggle to find 3 points for our last three games.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
I was thinking about this too. An Arsenal win would cement Tottenham finishing in 5th place. Could work in our favour.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 9:45 pmOne day at a time. We all should be rooting for an arsenal win tomorrow as it means Spurs won’t have anything to play for on Sunday

Of course it would be a massive help.
If we drew at Spurs and lost the other two and Leeds drew with Brighton and lost to Brentford, would it still not mathematically matter?
Every point is crucial
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Not quite, but if they lose and we win - we won’t be down barring a massive swing in goal difference - Everton could still drop thoughTonbridgeClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 9:42 pmIf Leeds lose and we win on Sunday, they will be down. Unlikely, but you never know!

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Yes of course but I didn't say mathematically. It will be huge for us if we got a draw it'll mean Leeds will have a bit of pressure on them and they'll feel they will need to beat Brighton. A point against Brigton and they're still below us and we'll have a game in hand. It's all ifs and buts anyway but a point would be huge against spurs for a few reasons.

Sterling misses 3-4 for every one he scores!

I give up
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Chelsea were very impressive tonight, despite the fear Leeds could win the game.
Leeds barely got into their penalty area, such was the Chelsea dominance.

To put it simply, will we stand a better chance of avoiding relegation if we lose or win on Sunday?

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
If we get a point at Spurs it'll mean Leeds only have one outcome (win) to go above us. If we lose they'll have 2 outcomes (win or draw) to go above us. Plus we play before Leeds and a point will put massive pressure on them to win. So a point at Spurs will be huge.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Almost as good a set of results as we could hope for tonight
Arsenal win tomorrow would certainly help
Up to us just to try to get as many points as possible in the remaining games and I think we are at the stage where four might well be enough

Apologies Spurs could beat us 25-0 that'll give Leeds another outcome to go above us.
