Tonight's Footy matches
Leeds v Chelsea. Can't rely on Chelsea at the moment and it'll be interesting to see the team they put out considering the FA Cup on Saturday. Could be a "shock" result on the cards and Leeds win/draw (please no) I mean Chelsea aren't exactly guaranteed top 4 even though the odds are in their favour and should be beating Leeds.
Watford v Everton. Well Watford won't be doing anyone any favours except Everton that's pretty much assured a win for Everton unless some sort of miracle happens.
Wolves v Man City. Man City need to win with West Ham away next and Villa at home last game of the season. But having 3 goals difference better off then Liverpool could be crucial in the run in.
Leicester v Norwich meh. Wouldn't surprise me to see Norwich win.
Leeds 1 v 2 Chelsea (depending on team news)
Watford 0 v 3 Everton
Wolves 0 v 2 Man City
Leicester 1 v 2 Norwich
Ideally Everton and Leeds lose obviously.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Not got a great feeling about tonight.
Everton will definitely win and Leeds won’t lose

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
No way Everton and Leeds both lose. Not too bothered about Everton but Leeds v Chelsea is the biggest game of the season so far for us. Even a point for Leeds would hurt us especially if we lose at Spurs which we probably will. A defeat for Leeds means that Spurs game is a free hit for us and even a loss puts us 1 game nearer to survival

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
We all know we have to match Leeds results. But imagine if they get a point that's going to seriously damage our chances of staying up. Its only 1 point but will feel like 3 for them. Meaning we'd have to get a draw at Spurs to stay in it. They could get a point tonight and lose the last 2 games but won't happen. It has to be one of the tightest relegation battles there has been. In fact the top and bottom has to be one of the tightest races in one season ever well in recent times at any rate.FCBurnley wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 4:01 pmNo way Everton and Leeds both lose. If Leeds lose tonight the pendulum swings back to us and it removes any pressure from the Spurs game (a free hit at that point).
Massive, massive game.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Leeds win & I’d say we’re down, but a loss doesn’t make Sunday a free hit in my opinion. Their remaining games vs Brighton and Brentford are much easier than ours, so the pressure is still on.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 4:20 pmIf Leeds lose tonight the pendulum swings back to us and it removes any pressure from the Spurs game (a free hit at that point).

As you say, huge game and I’m fearing the worst with Chelsea’s recent form/cup final.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
I am not sure they're much easier fixtures for Leeds, I think they're very evenly matched. Brighton and Brentford are both in great form and seem to be showing that they are not 'on the beach' and want to finish as high as possible. They're all difficult games for us and Leeds and both teams could easily lose them all. It literally might be 1 point in this relegation fight, or it might be decided on GD (hopefully!).NewClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 4:27 pmLeeds win & I’d say we’re down, but a loss doesn’t make Sunday a free hit in my opinion. Leeds, draw tonight, draw Sunday, draw last game of season.
We beat Newcastle we stay up........simples.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
I have a bad feeling about the Leeds game but again all depends on Chelsea's line up and even then I'm not convinced and still have a bad feeling. On paper Chelsea should win but as we all know football doesn't work out that way a lot of times. Around 6.30pm will be interesting to see how Chelsea are lining up. BUT whoever starts should be busting a gut to give themselves a chance of starting on Saturday.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Norwich embark on a fabulous finish in their infrequent visits to the top table and burst Everton's recent bubble with a 3-2 win after robust half-time talking to by famous cook.
The 'real' Chelski turn up after an indifferent 30 minutes.
I'm just pouring my next celebratory single malt as they complete the pulling of the Weeds with the last kick of the game to win 6-2.
Easy this football lark.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Ideal scenario is Leeds get tubbed with Phillips and Raphinha picking up an injury/red card in the process. But I can see yet another half-arsed Chelsea performance.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Leeds played well at home to City last game. High intensity, created some decent openings, though City are City and play at another level. I feel if they play like that again tonight with a half arsed Chelsea, they will come away with a minimum point.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
That's how I see it too. Leeds without Cooper, Dallas and Ayling is big for them though. Think it pretty much relies on the attitude of Chelsea's approach. That's why I'm hopeful of whoever starts for them tonight will be trying to force their way/keep their place in to the game on Saturday. Hopeful

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Fans of Leeds seem to be happy Ayling is out, saying he’s been a weak link for a while. Cooper might be fit to start, according to Marsch. Let’s hope an early ish Chelsea goal to dim the atmosphere a bit, like Villa’s did at the weekend.AwayClaret wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 5:05 pmThat's how I see it too. Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Yes just seen Cooper could start as he was close at the weekend apparently. Llorente at right back? Chelsea are going to make loads of changes and start with players who have barely featured recently is my guess. Which is not good news. Although again they should be pushing for a place on Saturday but may not be busting a gut as they know they won't be starting.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Chelsea screwed us at Everton. Lose today at Leeds and they could become the most hated club by Clarets fans ( except one of course)
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
When looking at the fixtures a few weeks ago I would have told you United would easily beat Everton, Chelsea would easily beat Everton and Chelsea would easily beat Leeds.
Bit of a worry that.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Why do I have the feeling that Leeds and Everton will not be allowed to drop ?
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Unfortunately I think Leeds will win and we won’t get another point. I’d love to be proved wrong but realistically I think the Championship looms. The damage was done sometime ago.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Chelsea got a strong team out at least.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
No Kante and let’s hope they play to Lukaku’s strengths.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Kovacic is the man this season for them. Big plus that he’s starting.Hibsclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 6:37 pmNo Kante and let’s hope they play to Lukaku’s strengths.

ton of changes, not that I'm against Lukaku and Pulisic starting over Havertz and Werner.

A lot of changes for Watford too. Hopefully a new team bounce
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Four changes is a ton
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Let's hope Lukaku lives up to his reputation as a flat track bully.
Re: Tonight's Footy matches
Kante is a big loss for Chelsea but a pretty decent line up.

Re: Tonight's Footy matches
On paper that's a strong Chelsea XI, however all depends what their attitude is like, as Leeds will surely come flying out of the traps buoyed by their home support.
Got a bad feeling Leeds will get a point tonight, and that would leave us with a lot to do considering we travel to Spurs next.
Everton should easily beat Watford, but TBH I don't consider Everton as catchable now, especially with their extra game.
So it's all about whether we can finish a short head above Leeds, we can but we'll probably need a win and a draw from somewhere, and with our present injury woes that looks a big ask I'm afraid.

How on earth was that a foul by Kovacic? clearly won the ball, these referees are either clueless or the game has gone mad.

On me jollies in Ljubljana so watching Borussia Moenchengladbach v Ukraine, in a warm up game before the Scotland playoff.
Obviously one eye on Bellend Rd.I can only see Chelsea getting anything if they are playing for their cup final places. Putins’ madness has really kicked us in the ********.
