Luton-Huddersfield 1st leg PO
Tonight may or may not provide a hint as too who will be playing their trade in the prem next season.
I do agree with Nathan Jones regarding the scheduling of these ties, 1st leg this evening, 2nd leg on Monday at Huddersfield, then a 2 week wait until the final, bonkers why they couldn't have organised a better way of managing these crucial games.
If Luton do male it up it'll be an incredible rise through the leagues considering they were still a non-league club as recently as 2014.
As it happens I fancy Forest to emerge victorious, but knowing how tense and tight these occasions can be one thing we probably can be guaranteed is drama.

If things had turned out different, might have been watching those idiots down the motorway play.
So I'm just thankful for small mercies...

Yep thankfully they failed again to even make the play-off's, as the thought of them potentially replacing us in the PL would be unbearable.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 6:55 pmIf things had turned out different, might have been watching those idiots down the motorway play.

Hard to pick a winner in this over 2 legs Usually tight affairs the first leg but something tells me there will be goals in this tonight.

Terriers v Forest final. Four decent sides but these two a cut above their opponents.
Edging towards Terriers but it could go to pens.

Agree. The 2 better sides are Forest and Huddersfield. But that doesn’t really mean that much. As we know, it’s a lottery. Anyone of them could prevail over the 3 games to get up. My heart says Huddersfield, my head says Forest.

No VAR in the semi-finals I believe, however it will be used in the final.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 7:51 pmLooked a clear push in the back on seeing the replay.

Away goals don't matter anymore right? Think that has taken the edge off these ties.

This joke of a referee is the one who reffed our game away at Elland Road last season. He’s absolutely appalling. Hasn’t got a clue what’s going on and just makes things up. A clown.

You'd have thought there was an argument for VAR in the semis as well as the final in matches that are often described as "the most lucrative promotion in world club football."
Could do with it tonight, for sure.

Right up there with the very worst was that one.
Just as bad was the idiot Michael Oliver in the VAR room.

Is it him who refused to give an obvious peno when Meslier flattened Ben Mee at Elland Road?
Re: Luton-Huddersfield 1st leg PO
The half time analyst when talking about the first penalty incident, "Maybe it's too early in the game to be making those big decisions".
I absolutely detest that kind of talk. It's a sporting competition ffs, not a pantomime.

If I read this correctly someone mentioned “Rob Jones”. How this guy has managed to become a professional referee is beyond me. Still can’t forgive him for the Mee incident at Leeds a season or so ago when it was a clear penalty to us after the assault from behind by their keeper on Mee and he gives a free kick to Leeds.

Hoping Luton make it. Their fans have had it tough recently. Financial disarray and the point reduction hurt them. They crawled their way back up and without pot loads of cash like other teams.
Meanwhile most other teams continue to get away without point reductions. The more teams like us and them in the top league the more the dream is kept alive.

Double whammy, should’ve been a penalty, if not a penalty, then a goal. The one thing it wasn’t, was a foul on the keeper. Except in the eyes of that p’rick.

Pleased someone else thought that, one of those pathetic ones where they thrust out a leg to the side to ‘intitiate’ contact. Really good call by the ref in real time.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 9:15 pmThat Jerome incident was am embarrassing dive

Probably bottled the first one with it being so early, still wrong though. Not 100% sure VAR would have over ruled it.
