Come on you Seagulls

Post by Woodleyclaret » Sat May 14, 2022 7:11 am

We need Brighton to hammer Dirty Leeds this weekend. Brighton's brand of quick pass and move football, coupled with a viscous streak, will hopefully see them get another away win

Just read that Harrison and Raphina are fine which is very bad news.

Brighton just don’t seem to be one of those teams who roll over, whatever the match. They’ve smashed Wolves and Man U……..and Weeds defence is almost made for Brighton…..

Hopefully not tempting fate tho!!!!

Come on you plastics………..put another nail in the downwards journey of the best fans in the world!

Really hope Brighton can put in a good showing. Leeds will literally throw the kitchen sink at them.

Metaphorically, perhaps, but Brighton should beat Leeds easily.

One thing which gives me hope is Brighton's good away form, and if they can get an early goal the Elland Road natives could quickly turn on their players.

I don't expect us to get owt from Spurs. so we really we do need a favour from Brighton on Sunday.

A Leeds defeat then gives us 2 bites at the the cherry against Villa and Newcastle, and we could even be safe prior to the final day all being well.

You'd hope that both Brighton (and Brentford next weekend) will be asking themselves who they would rather be competing with next season and try and perform accordingly. Leeds, with all the additional resources they'll have in the summer, or us (presuming Alan doesn't secure some major investment!)

Not sure how Phillips stayed on the pitch vs Chelsea, hopefully his luck will run out soon especially if they have a strong ref tomorrow.

Brighton on fire lately, with the way they crushed United, just hope they keep that going, if they do they should come out on top.

Yes, a couple of injuries getting better for DL is not great, but the recent suspensions will hopefully have a dramatic downturn for them.

Nowt we can do but hope.

Stating the obvious but this is arguably the biggest game of all remaining. Highly likely we don’t get anything at Spurs. Leeds lose, you fancy we stay up, draw and we’ve gotta get a result at Villa (tough), win and Leeds stay up, we go down.

Brighton are playing in their yellow strip tomorrow which they haven’t won in all season so you can add that to the list of things to worry about

Hmm! I don't buy those figures, I'd say it's evens between us and Leeds given the respective fixtures and injuries.

If I was being being impartial and brutally honest I'd have us as favourites to go down. Unfortunately even though it's in our hands with the games us and Leeds have left we're pretty much relying on other teams to help us out. Hope I'm completely wrong like.

If we lose every game we aren't guaranteed to be relegated, but if Leeds lose all theirs it's impossible for them to stop up.

So they odds are still slightly in our favour.

Sadly, these are my thoughts too. I don’t see us getting anything at Spurs and Villa, especially with all the injuries we have. I think Leeds will beat Brighton with an Elland Road similar to what Goodison Park was like in the last few weeks. Our hope then is to beat Newcastle at home and Brentford beat Leeds on the last day.

This seems the most likely scenario to me. Or, just maybe, the best weekend ever could be about to happen where we beat Spuds, Brighton beat DL and we can all sit back and enjoy the last few games. That’d be nice, thank you please.

And plenty were saying Leeds had a chance against Chelsea.

They barely got into the Chelsea half for most of the game it was that one sided.

Brighton haven’t had anything to play for for weeks and it’s produced their best form of the season.

To be fair, don’t think you can consider their last three fixtures an indication that the pressure has got to them.

If they were scattered amongst the season, they’d lose each one and nobody would bat an eyelid. They’ve been unfortunate to have them in a run. How they respond tomorrow is the key.

Biggest game of the relegation scrap for me.

A win, or even a draw, for Leeds piles huge pressure on us. A Leeds defeat would put us in sight of safety.

Indeed a passionate home crowd can be a double-edged sword, great if things are going well, but if things aren't going well it can also be a burden for the home side.

1st goal will be crucial in this game, Leeds get it and they may go on to win relatively easily, however if Brighton take the lead the pressure could well tell on a Leeds team who've been toiling in recent games.

Given our injury woes i think a point for Leeds will be enough for them to stay up. Will be interesting to see how they play it tomorrow

I think you can tbh - red cards in successive games (one being your captain) suggests a lack of discipline and control.

On paper yes they do have marginally easier games, but when you're in a relegation battle no games are easy, and we do have 3 games still to play to their 2, that's why I can't call it TBH.

They might be chancing it with Harrison and Raphina. Raphina came off holding his hammy, although he was begging to stay on if it is gone it is gone. First sprint could see him done for the season.
