Dwight CM

Post by Blatherwickstattoo » Sun May 15, 2022 11:01 pm

Got to say I never got the talk about him being more central. Maybe as a 10 in the hole but never in a central Role. For 90 minutes he was magnificent. Spraying the ball about with pure class when he came deep to receive. Confidence, swagger and he enjoyed that today you could tell. And so did we regardless of the result. Well done young man

Thought he was excellent today, a standout performer (along with Collins)

He has to play on the left of a 3 for me now. Hopefully the new manager sees him in there.
He's too easy to double up on out wide and has less options. Spurs couldn't cope with him today for large periods.

Got involved more, the whole system worked better for the squad we have available. If we changed to 532 even at Christmas we'd be no where near the fight were in now

I thought he was excellent too.

Will be interesting to see how that formation works against different away/opposition teams formations

I’m not sure you can say if we’d have done this since Christmas we’d be ok. You need to be more adaptable against certain teams and Spurs are perfect for that system yesterday as they are very quick in transition and dangerous on the break. We stifled them with the extra defender but I’m not sure it would work as well against other teams. Also, the personnel available almost enforced the system. That said, I doubt that Dyche would have played that system with the available personnel, certainly not Lowton on the left of a 3. Kudos to the manager for going with it as we were very solid at the back.

Dwight had a great game as did Cork who was magnificent yesterday.

Very good centrally, something I’ve suggested many times on here. He’d be ideal as an 8 in a 4-3-3 which hopefully we get to see next season with a new progressive coach.
