I hadn’t realised we were in for Darren Moore, do we know why it didn’t proceed?

Paul McGrath would have been interesting as he was a class act. Looking at his Wikipedia page though he didn't end up playing much football in 1997

A number of players left the club this and a couple of seasons previous and the replacements were of a lower standard. Pender, replaced by a player i always refer to as "bloody hell Winstanley" and Deary in 1995 and Eyres and Parky in 1997.
