Forest's keeper

Post by Clarky » Wed May 18, 2022 9:07 am

Would the penalty saves been allowed if VAR was n operation? I very much doubt it.

Interesting that his water bottle also had the names of each Sheffield player and which way to dive for there penalty’s. A few people are saying is that allowed?

Why wouldn’t that be allowed?

I have no idea. Just seen a few mentioning it online (something to do with keepers arnt allowed anything in the net during a penalty shootout?)

not sure, as in I'm not sure of the rules these days. I think as long as the keeper still has one foot on the line then its OK, happy to be corrected. Still, its close on all of them, but the SU keeper also did the same so... would have been a long night with VAR

It was on the ground outside of the net

Are the people suggesting this from Sheffield by any chance?

If the Sheffield fans genuinely think that isn't allowed, then at least our "VAR is being used to relegate us" bunch have some pretty close competition

That's been done for years. Tim Krul from a few years ago:

I thought it was pretty much standard practice that keepers did their penalty homework these days

Shouldn't someone from Sheffield Utd have been on the ball and told the pen takers to mix it up a bit?

Sure Nick Pope and BPF have both done this for Burnley, having the opposing players penalty habits on a water bottle or piece of paper.
