Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Both scripted and corrupt.
It is not about which club is the best it is who is more marketable.
We have seen how bent this league is this week. Nothing we can do and it will only get worse. More money = more corruption in everything. Sport is no exception.

It’s not corruption.
It’s just people who are way below any sort of standard.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
We have not had a player sent off for many matches and yet the same referee has seen fit to send two off within the last two months. Tonight's dismissal was a joke. The Villa player was never going to win the ball but 'conned' the ref. The game is dead!
Why did I stop mentoring young referees ----answer ----because of games like tonight!

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
People on here are just stupid, the penalty we got today was exactly the same as the 2nd one Everton got on the Turf, that many said was never a penalty and soft. I thought both were clear penalties.
If Watkins elbows Tarkowski like Barnes did to Mings, people on here would ask where the red card is.
As for the penalty claim for handball, after watching the replay 10 times, you cannot 100% tell me that ball strikes the arm/hand. If you believe you can, you're lying and biased.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Genuine question- what was the difference between the pen that was given against us Sunday and the ‘VAR check’ tonight?
Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
the Lowton sending off was harsh and poor refereeing imo

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Anyone who thinks we play on a level playing field as far as officiating goes needs their head checking.
Every week, without fail, the texts I get from non-Burnley supporting friends who are amazed at what has gone against us each game are relentless. My phone was lighting up on an almost minute by minute basis for the decisions this evening.
Corrupt is a strong word, but we are absolutely, 100%, hard done by COMPARED to other teams.

Reminds me of the Collins goal against Soton, VAR looked for offside but it was impossible to tell if Cork touched the ball, so there wasn't enough evidence to rule it out.
I'm not sure how you can give a penalty for handball when you can't conclusively say the ball hits the arm.

the trouble is that if you believe that it is then there's no point in watching any more.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
We are extremely lucky to get a point tonight.
It wasn’t handball tonight, although I appreciate the argument regarding ref consistency.
Lowton’s challenge was a red. The follow through can easily be considered dangerous although not intentional.
We’ve had to rely on Pope so many times to keep us in games.
We’re a team of players that have been coached so long what to do out of possession that we have no idea what to do IN possession.
If we stay up this season then it will be very fortunate.

The US president can't get his d1ck sucked without the whole world finding out but the largest sports league in the world is orchestrated to a narrative, requiring conspirators at every game, every week, micromanaging decisions.

Remember earlier this season Harry Kane nearly broke Andy Roberston's leg with a deliberate lunge yet got away with it because he plays for England.
Yet Lowton gets sent off for THAT challenge!

You’re missing my point. I don’t believe either are pens however one was overturned and one wasn’t. If you are going to overturn Barnes at Spurs, you overturn that.

Sorry,
but how do you "nearly" break someone's leg.
You either break it or not
Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
In your opinion, that isn't factual imo. I've watched it 10 times and I'm not convinced the ball actually hits his arm/hand at all.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Lads, its not
Its just inconsistent with rules, and its normally not the same team having one given against it one week, and then (what looks like) exactly the same not given for it the next
They need to look at the VAR, and sort out the consistency as an absolute priority
And its pretty obvious from that the check on Lowton that was a very harsh red card as well
It does need sorting

It's nothing to do with attention, I'm saying what I see.
After watching it back 10x, I don't see clear evidence it hits the arm, the ball doesn't change direction at all either.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Neither was given, but Barnes' was pulled back to look at by VAR. That's worse in my book. You could argue as some have that the one tonight wasn't clear and obvious error and so shouldn't overrule the ref's call. But somehow Barnes was.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 10:08 pmYou’re missing my point. I don’t believe either are pens however one was overturned and one wasn’t. Fair enough but ... by your logic you cannot say it did on Sunday as the trajectory didn't change ... unlike tonight when it did ...KRBFC wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 10:05 pmAs for the penalty claim for handball, after watching the replay 10 times, you cannot 100% tell me that ball strikes the arm/hand. Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Football at this level is a disgrace, scripted beyond belief against unpopular sides like us. Let's hope we get one or two rubs of the green on Sunday, get the result and send Leeds down; that'll p!s5 a few off at Prem HQ.

I think if it was scripted Barnes would have been sent off in the first five minutes for that elbow

It's pretty conclusive on replay the ball hits Barnes' arm. I think if it's conclusive the ball hit's Digne's arm, both decisions should be the same. I think the issue is, it looks impossible to tell if it hit Digne on the arm at all.
Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Of course it isn't.
How stupid do you have to be to believe that a sporting competition is scripted/rigged and still watch and be invested in it.

There’s no conspiracy - nobody other than us really gives a s*** if Burnley go down or not - there’s just some decisions you don’t agree with.
The sending off was harsh, Barnes was lucky, the handball was unclear. That’s all it is.

Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
So what bit of this so-called script involves us failing to score against Norwich (goals which would have kept us up)?
Are we in on it?
Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
It hits his arm then his chest ...
Re: Is the Premier League scripted?
Stephen Ward has just said on Sky it’s not clear that the ball hit Dignes arm.
I get the frustration re consistency, I really do.
But speak to a fan of any club, and they could give you examples where their team has been at the wrong end of debatable decisions. It happens to everyone.
Let’s not kid ourselves, had a Villa player gone through one of ours like Lowton did, we’d all be screaming blue murder and saying it was a red.

For anyone watching the post match analysis. Dion Dublin practically laughing at the throw in for their goal, when questioned if it should have been VAR’d.
For the handball “oh well surely we’re not in the ball grazing the arm territory are we lads eh?”
I’m not saying there’s corruption, but there is 100% an agenda
