I'm not going to pretend that the horrors of war is anything like our situation, but Requiem For A Soldier is spine tingling and fits the bill.

Leave everything on the field you Claret beauties.

I think, amongst the chaos, we need to take time to thank Mr Jackson and his back room team.

To take the lead of a Premier League Football club, to lead us forward and deliver us to the last day with our fate in our own hands was something special.

Professional throughout, honest and engaging with the media, honest with the group, and a real leader when we needed one.

Thank you from all the fans!

Did his best and gave us a great chance. Players obviously bought in to his methods. Didn’t agree with many of the shouts to give him the job but he’d have been a hero had he achieved it.

But weirdly threw it away with a bizarre team selection in the final game.

Absolutely. Played one of the best players of the past month out of position at right back, to accommodate a centre half who should only be played in emergencies. Collins & Roberts down the right hand side didn’t work.

Indeed. I'd assumed 3 at the back as the missus read the team news as we came in from Gannow roundabout. After 5 mins I realised it was 442 with Roberts forward. This despite Roberts not really offering any previous real evidence of being a prolific chance creator further forward.

I guess he didn't trust him defensively in a 4 but thought he might sit ok in front of Collins to screen him? I'd have put Lennon RW.

It says a lot for recruitment and the players we brought in this season that our u23 was unable to find a decent space in the starting lineup for Weghorst, Cornet and Roberts despite us needing to win.

All discussions lead to recruitment before long.

I didn’t mind it to start the game… Roberts drops in to double up on St Max who is their danger man, yet can contribute going forward. He nearly scored away at Villa before Wouts big chance and had a good record for Swansea in terms of goals and assists.

The most bizarre thing for me was taking him off at half time in favour of leaving Collins at RB and Long CB, unless Roberts was injured?

Little he could do with the injuries and rubbish at his disposal .That said some of the most bizzare team and formations I’ve seen in many a year .
