I wonder just how open and honest he might be over the next few days and weeks. I’m betting we will hear nothing from him.

Re: Alan Pace
The blame game will start now but anyone with an ounce of sense will have Pace we’ll down that list. He made a gutsy decision and unfortunately it has fallen at the final hurdle.
I hate to say this but under Dyche I don’t think we’d have reached the final hurdle. We were going down under Dyche - every indicator pointed to it.
It’s regrettable but I sense some fans will be happy we’ve gone because they’ve now got a stick to beat Pace with. Wrong guy.

Even if we had survived today the only way he would have got away with it was if other investors came in and paid for his plans
Re: Alan Pace
Garlick must have Tony over a barrel, 2 threads of mine deleted calling the previous owner out.
Iv no doubt ill receive a ban but thus forum is in the pits if fans can't speak openly.

Pace isn't the main reason we've gone down but he's very much the main reason going down is going to be a total disaster for this club.

The gutsy decision he made was not having a contingency plan but having a gamble on a ‘bounce’ & you know, the worst offense, plunging our club into debt so he can have a go at being a football chairman.

Re: Alan Pace
Pace designed and executed the takeover. It's fair to think Garlick shouldn't have sold it to him but you can't take any of the responsibility from the people who actually did it.

Re: Alan Pace
Relegation is nothing to do with Alan Pace. He had the guts to try to prevent it by firing the guy that the team were no longer walking through walls for
And he is nothing to do with the financial situation at the club. The terms of the sale were clearly known by the previous ownership. His offer to purchase and the structure of it was wholly accepted by the sellers. They didn’t have to sell to an offer with that structure

Exactly this - he was well within his right to make the offer that he did and it got the green light from the previous owners and PL.NRC wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 7:16 pmRelegation is nothing to do with Alan Pace. Re: Alan Pace
We need much investment in the transfer window, we lost Wood by no fault of our own and replaced him with Weghorst…
We didn’t sign anyone else. If Wood hadn’t left, what investment in the window would’ve been made?
Alan Pace is out of his depth when it comes to running a football club.

Re: Alan Pace
We lost Wood as Newcastle met his release clause. Stop trying to rewrite history. Maybe look back at the transfer windows under the previous chairman.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 7:23 pmWe need much investment in the transfer window, we lost Wood by no fault of our own and replaced him with Weghorst…

Garlic wanted to sell the club. That’s his choice.
Re: Alan Pace
Because you're blaming nobody but Pace. Garlick wanted to sell the club and Garlick agreed to the leveraged sale. If you're blaming Pace for what's happened, you have to blame the previous regime more.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 7:25 pmWhat kind of inane question is this? Alan Pace is responsible for our financial situation because he's our chairman and all of the bad decisions were his ideas that he has done.

I’ve no doubt about that.
Some people have been a disgrace though and should not be trusted going forwards.
You can’t trust people who can so easily be swayed.

Re: Alan Pace
Totally not the case, even in prophecy. There were three scenariosdaveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 7:12 pmPace isn't the main reason we've gone down but he's very much the main reason going down is going to be a total disaster for this club.
- go down under the previous ownership. How does their known MO point to the club evolving or getting promoted again?
- go down under Pace. Certainly the financials are a shackle, but the club was sold into that structure and at least he’s a change agent
- alternate management, which is not worth speculating about
Given the above, I would rather go down with the current management at the helm than the previous
