Liberated is the last thing I felt, probably temporarily relieved of the tension, but long term worries now. The last time we were relegated we had kept many of the squad and still confidence in our manager. I now fear we will be playing a season with a much depleted squad in terms of quality and no idea who will be running the show. Plus worries about the financial abyss we face.

I doubt our current squad would be good enough to challenge in the Championship let alone losing Pope, Tarky, a few key sales and others OOC. I just can't see any 'exciting signings' coming in either given the finances.

It is looking to me like the 'Reset' will be about remaining competetive in the Championship and not sinking further down.

I hope I am way off the mark because as much as I won't miss the Premier League, the thought of another season like the past two isn't something to relish.

I really don’t get this ‘would rather be in the Championship’ mindset.

As poor as we have been at times in the Prem there’s nothing like winning in the Prem. And I’d rather pay to see the likes of De Bruyne on the opposing team than a championship player.

Aside from immediate financial issues, for a club the size of Burnley, being in the Championship with the perhaps the odd sojourn to the EPL to help boost the coffers and see the superstars at the Turf, is far more enjoyable than the grind of a long term stay in the EPL. On top of which I might do better at the score predictions? That's not easy in the EPL when you're always predicting a Burnley win

Ever diminishing resources, heavily laden with debt and without a sugar daddy - I just can't see there being the odd sojourn to the EPL. We are in the worst position possible for a club of our size. Dark days indeed.

I'm feeling similar, but I've just realised another disappointment - we'll lose Andy Jones's fantastic coverage for the Atheltic.

Very good point. Think I'll probably cancel my subs.

It's debatable whether we will have more fun in the championship after prexit than Leeds will staying up. They might lose as many players as we do, and I don't understand why Jesse march is a Premier league or championship manager.

The only problem with the Championship is I'll have to dig the radio out, games aren't streamed.
You need to look harder, every FL game is streamed or at least has been this season if you know where to look and have the right initial equipment.

Correct. I live in Preston. House full of Knobbers. They watch PKE away games every other week, and I actually watched Bristol Rovers 7 Scunny 0 on last day of season. Every game is live if you have the gear.

Look at the dross coming up this season....Sheffield Utd still have a chance.
We'll be alright i reckon, we might have to yo-yo for two or three seasons.
Getting the right manager now is the most important thing IMO.

I don't get this Sheffield utd have a chance. I've read it 3 or 4 times on here today.

I thought the final was between
Huddersfield and forest?

Have I missed something?

No one really good is going up. Even Fulham lost a lot of matches and got less points than us when we finished second in 2014. The fact they had so many big wins, says more about the other teams than them.

Ordinarily, a relegation is something to get over swiftly and then look to see how the club reacts.

This time, owing to the debt, it feels like those bad times, when we plummeted, after selling our best young players.

I have a feeling Pope, Tarks, Cornet and McNeil will be gone. We have to build the team around the likes of Collins, Roberts and Taylor. I just worry that we have very little in the way of pace, creativity and goal scorers and will really struggle in midfield and up front unless we address these problems which might be difficult if there is little funds available for transfers.

Thats why its imperative to get a manager in asap

There are a lot of out of contract players (because everyone not in the prem is skint) and we could have the edge there

We need to start believing in our youngsters, or what's the point of it? As a Championship side these lads deserve a chance and whoever takes over as manager needs to assess who can step up to the first team and believe in them. That's the future - for now.

I’ve never been as bored watching us win than the Liverpool away game last season.

People keep saying we will struggle to compete in the Championship if we lose x players. I think the standard of the Championship has never been lower. We should win a lot of games next season.

As for De Bruyne, I’d quite happily never see us play City again.
