I live in the North East and local radio has been reporting all day that Burnley are about to announce Alex Neil as our new manager.

considering none of the Sunderland forums are mentioning it I would suggest you re-tune your radio

Why?
Sunderland are a bigger club than Burnley, have made the necessary adjustments and served their time in the 3rd division and are now on the up. Burnley sadly the opposite and pointing in the wrong direction.

Would be mad to leave Sunderland for Burnley.

He was on the Burnley radar at the time all was not well with Garlick & Dyche should Dyche have gone. He was at Preston at the time. I suspect it would take something big to get him out of Sunderland right now.

And if there had been any link today, I'd have had my very irate, still celebrating Sunderland mate telling me to keep our hands off.

Always seems to have done well at any side he’s been at. I know a north end fan who said it got abit stale there for him but he had very limited funds and kept them well away from any trouble. Not the most free flowing.

Tony i appreciate you have an ear to the ground and hear little nuggets of info from your respected sources. Whilst I wouldn’t expect you divulge anything, do you or crucially I suppose your sources have a feeling there’s a plan in place for a new manager any time soon?

from urbandictionary.com:

mackem
n. A demi-god worshipped by ancient civilisations as the epitome of wit and sexual prowess. Romans and Vikings colonised the area in the hope of developing a race of supermen to help them in their ambitions. The word is based on a blend of Roman and Norse, and means "astonishingly well-endowed, funny and attractive angel on a temporary visit from Valhalla."

Not to be confused with Geordie who were the unfortunate result of a Roman experiment in which Scotsmen had intercourse with pigs. These unfortunate troll-like humanoids can be identified by the fact they have to wear clothes covered in a large barcode so they can be tracked and controlled by security satellites.

Why would any half decent currently employed manager come here ? No players, best players leaving,no money apparently no plan apart from smiling wider and saying alls well.

Absolutely the right type of manager we need but would he leave Sunderland to come to a club stupid enough to get in so much debt thanks to Greedy Garlick

I’m sure they must have a plan but they didn’t appear to have much of one last month when they sacked Dyche.

Hope all is well Tony, I will hopefully be down next season. Was gutted to see you go down, but it will be nice to bring my daughter to her first visit to TM. Can you help if I want a couple of seats in one of the lounges? Think they lady who worked in that bit retired who I had the contact for.

UTC and good luck next season, if you are up for coming to our place I have Black Cat Bar tickets now. Let if you wanna sit with us nearer the time when we know dates as you are more than welcome.

Can't see Alex Neil leaving Sunderland for Burnley, maybe if they hadn't got promoted he might have been interested, but now no chance.
