Just read their sports section on line. Wow they have 4 Burnley articles running more than when we actually played football..!

Doom and more doom .... Players attending parties , out of contract players ,ALK looking to secure more loan money and why on earth are we suing Everton when our relegation is nothing to do with the media darlings from Merseyside.

Poor journalism lots of would, could or shoulds.

Keep the faith clarets - no one likes us .......we don't care.

Yeah... all of a sudden every idiot who couldn't find Burnley on a map is suddenly a ******* expert on our club.

It's boring doom mongering shite that keeps getting regurgitated every 5 minutes on some "publication" or other.

Shame they didn't ever show any interest in us before.

I read the article where they go full on doom-mongering about the finances but i stopped reading when they wrote "leaving behind a squad with few sellable assets!"...

... Maybe they think 100m of very saleable assets and still being left with a fairly decent Championship squad is a disaster.

Interesting front page on the Mail, especially when you compare it every other front page of every other newspaper

Quite illuminating in fact

The sports section will in the Mail is usually ok. They are all out to stick knives in to Burnley at the moment. Some of it may be true but they don’t know the full detail. I’m sure Pace isn’t shocked at having to repay this loan. Only a complete charlatan wouldn’t have planned for this. Bad news and sensationalism sells papers though

It's true. Daily Mail readers are 100% gullible and only read the news they want to believe. I can't believe how myopic they all are - swallowing guff without a thought in their mindless heads.

Not at all like the hard-hitting facts of *insert alternative newspaper* that *I* prefer to read. We readers of *insert alternative newspaper* are such a discerning bunch, full of unique and independent thoughts.

So unique and independent that they can completely ignore the the daily news stories that everyone else covers

To be serious for a second, the REAL problem with the Daily Mail isn't the constant lies and manipulation of people who aren't as clever as I am (who can't realise how easily they're being manipulated) it's the fact that the Daily Mail just causes division and hatred.

That's literally all it ever does. This constant division of pitting X against Y is what is wrong with this country.

In fact, if it weren't for the Daily Mail readers we'd be living in a much better country. We ought to run them out of it to improve things in my humble (independently reached) opinion.

Just think, we could even re-run the Brexit referendum without the Daily Mail swines!

A strange view of life if that's his thoughts

I realise that every paper has political leanings, and I know which way each paper leans. I can read articles in the Mail, the Sun, the Mirror, the telegraph or Guardian, each one has good articles and bad ones, I certainly wouldn't think that every Mail reader reacts the same, likewise Guardian readers.

If you read a variety of news sources, then you'll realise quite quickly that the Mail can have an interesting take on the main news story of the day

(ie ignore it completely)

I read all main papers and find the Guardian to be up itself... Whilst the dailymail is a completely over the top scaremongering panic rag. I like the comments section though thats always worth a laugh. I got banned from the dailymail comments section for life in 2020 ish now that is an achievement

I used to be a Centrist because it seemed sensible and moderate then I grew up and realised that Career politicians have to follow a party code otherwise they have no career. That stops any free thought and they cease to be public servants. Once a local politician becomes flushed with success you have lost them to the world.

Getting back to the Mail’s Clarets stories the Martin Samuel one is the biggest clown writeup. The premise is that nobody is to blame but ourselves.

He is partly on the right track with that of course, but he conveniently forgets that we were on 35 points and that usually is enough to stay up. OK, I’ve been posting for months that we need 38 points unless we relied on luck, and that turned out to be true, but we only marginally deserve to go down, and Leeds / Everton deserved it too. They just had luck, primarily last minute goals and deflections, Richarlison being available not banned and teams not bothering to turn up for some of their final games, unlike Newcastle who were defending like it was their last game on earth with Howe claiming integrity demanded it despite him having the dubious integrity to take the cash from that ownership.

I have always felt Howe was likely to have been sacked by Burnley and they all arranged a convenient story, certainly his focus on the game backed that view up. But that’s an altogether different story.

Back to Samuel. Luck doesn't balance out after 38 games, it is statistically improbable. Maybe 380 games.

He then talks a lot about it seeming like a paranoid conspiracy theory that the power brokers want Burnley down, he talks about it so much it makes one wonder. He then talks about Everton’s finances and that Everton should be punished if guilty - well yes, but if so surely that undermines his whole argument?

I know now how Blades fans felt over the Tevez affair. That was a right royal stitch up too but it took them years to get compensated.

That's exactly what I mean Lancaster - I know local MP's (Conservative/Labour and SNP) I consider them all friends and people with great ideals and wishes. However they are all on an upward trajectory and once they are recognised as bright lights then they have to swallow more of the party cake till eventually they will become bloated and useless.
