and you don't think Collins, also a full international, isn't one of the top young prospects ? I'm not saying he's as good as Botman or not but if he went for 35 there is no way we sell Collins for 18 (as you agreed)
He's nowhere near as well known or proven as Botman, I think he'll end up at the very top though. Botman was probably Lille's best player when they won the title 2 years ago, he was 20 then.

That's a bit harsh; well over half of our fans - well, OK, maybe not those in the cricket field end - are walking upright nowadays.

Will Smallbone from Southampton linked on loan.
With Brownhill going the other way?, hope not.

Nope.
It's an assist that wasn't unexpected.

Who was the player who had a release clause that a club triggered by £1 and the players team simply refused to honor it? They just stonewalled them out.

Are release clauses legally viable? If so why did that happen.

No.

Big chances created will be shots created over a certain amount of xG. The amount will vary from data provider to data provider but over 0.33 xG is probably the average, so a chance that would expect to be scored 1 time in 3.

xA (expected assists) is basically the same as the xG for the player that created the chance. If the chance was 0.33 xG for the striker the player who created that chance would have earned (for want of a better word) 0.33 xA.

So 5 chances of 0.33 xG* would be recorded as 5 big chances but only an accumulation of 1.65 xA.

*Obviously it's unlikely that all chances would created would be of the same xG.

No matter how many of these opportunities McNeill created it wasn't enough. In addition he missed some big chances in the box and totally cost us goals with his poor tracking back .
There at least two posters on here who think the sun shines out of his shorts and would almost having him playing full back to have him in the team.
I want him to stay because I refuse to believe such a promising young player could go backwards so much.

Yes he was great for 6 of the last 8 years. Time to move on. Nostalgia never got you anything in the PL

Imagine the names being mentioned on here if SD was still here-Joe Allen of Stoke, Delph of Everton, Andy Carroll. I could go on. Then the debates of whether he was SD's choice or the Chairman.
That's a nonsense though. Last time we were relegated Dyche signed Andre Gray (24), James Tarkowski (23), Tendayi Darikwa (23), Chris Long (20), Jelle Vossen (26), Rouwen Hennings (27) and Matthew Lowton (26) for fees. Lloyd Dyer (33), Paul Robinson (36) and Joey Barton (32) on frees. So average age of signings was 27.

If you read my post you will see I said SD was great for the first 6 of the last 8 years. The signings and performances of the last two years were non existent and poor respectively. He lost his way.All the names you mentioned were not in the last two years, and only four were decent-the rest were a disaster

I agree with Nixon.

I can remember VVD on the Turf for Southampton, and he oozed quality, both ends of the pitch.

Collins isn't VVD, yet, but the qualities he has, the composure, the technique, and at such a young age, he very well could be in the future.

Now even if Collins doesn't hit those heights, he is still going to be an outstanding player, and worth 40 million of anybodys money.

I know it's already known with other sources but Andy Jones also adding that Harwood Bellis and Egan Riley are expected to sign this week.

Let’s assume those two sign. As things stand, where would we need to strengthen?

For me a back up left back, a cm (2 if I’m greedy), pace out wide and a striker. That is assuming nobody else leaves.

Speculation being we are buying Riley outright, but I do wonder when THB gets to a point where he gets tired of being on loan and questions if he will ever see the light of day at City and pushes for a move. If so you would think under VK the time is now maybe

Back up left back could easily be Dodgson and / or Egan Riley.

Dan James played on the left for Leeds. However when there new manager came in he identified James as a second striker or Right winger.

I’m pretty certain James will move to the right wing leaving an opening for a left winger

I’m liking the sound of a lot of the players we are being linked to. I do hope though that we bring in one or two who would really be expected to hit the ground running - proven performers at this level if you will.

Starting goalscoring striker, starting CM, starting GK. Wide player, Dodgson is a LB I think, let him fill that backup role.

???????
Roberts Collins Harwood-Bellis Taylor
Brownhill ?????
Cornet Twine Mcneil
??????

Is a hell of a side.

I don’t see Cornet as a Leeds player at all. He’s got nowhere near enough nastiness and aggression in his game for the fans not to be on his back.

I wouldn't mind but its the same posters who drag every thread down to a chat between 3 or 4 of them on their own school yard top trumps battle, which the spoils the continuity of good discussions on the topic matter.

We a absolutely need another central midfielder, unless there are plans to get one of the younger lads more involved.

If you read my post you will see I said SD was great for the first 6 of the last 8 years. The signings and performances of the last two years were non existent and poor respectively. He lost his way.All the names you mentioned were not in the last two years, and only four were decent-the rest were a disaster
Well the only similar window to this one that SD had was the one I mentioned, ie. Relegated back down to the Championship. You were suggesting we'd be exclusively looking at over 30s when that was certainly not the case that window.

But fine, lets not compare apples with apples and instead look at the last 2 years of signings under SD then...

Cornet (25), Roberts (25), Collins (20), Hennessey (34), Lennon (34) Weghorst (29), Stephens (31), Norris (27)

Average age of 28. So again, not exclusively over 30s.

I don’t see Cornet as a Leeds player at all. He’s got nowhere near enough nastiness and aggression in his game for the fans not to be on his back.
Bamford manages

All seems to have gone quiet on Josh Cullen. Cork and Brownhill would be quality in the championship though.

VK has said he doesn’t want to damage his old club. I reckon we’re just waiting until we get nearer the end of the transfer window though as he’s heading in to his last year & I imagine they might want to cash in when it comes to it.

Seen Makhtar Gueye linked with the club again
Hard to know as there’s very little on YT, but his stats of 12 in 30 look very average for the Belgian League!

Going to be interesting to see what happens when Roberts & Collins report for training on Monday. Suspect Cornet is in the same situation in terms of reporting for training

Didn't I see that a PL club is in for Cullen?
