Collins stories appear to be gathering momentum.
Was confident we’d keep him at end of last season. Now pretty sure he’s going to be leaving. Can only hope for something like the £30m fee Nixon is talking about.

To me it seems obvious he’s going with us signing 3 cbs.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:20 pmCollins stories appear to be gathering momentum.

As well, I take it we could probably do with the money for the rest of our rebuild.

He’s a natural cb that can play rb comfortably.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:25 pmThree CBs? Egan-Riley is predominantly a right back isn’t he?
Plus we’ve got Thomas, Bedeau and Long still on the books.

Looks like all our top players want out.
Easier to get relegated and sold than put some decent level of performance in?

Probably because his only senior game time came at RB for city.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:28 pmAh right. I watched a YouTube video from City’s in-house media and they described him as a “full back”.
Most of his u23 and younger games have come at CB.

It’ll be a real shame if Collins leaves. Of all those left, he’d be the one that I’d really have liked to keep and see him progress with us. I hope we include a sizeable sell on fee.

Killed us on two fronts that injury to Ben Mee. I think we'd have stayed up with him in the team, and it also brought Collins more to the attention of teams - think we could have kept him otherwise

At this level, £30m goes a long, long way. Allowing for wages, about 5 Twines.
On that basis it may be good to sell, though I like Collins a lot, end of season errors notwithstanding.

WHU I think, but not sure if it's reliable.

I initially read that as "about 5 Twixes", I thought surely we won't get that much.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:07 pmAt this level, £30m goes a long, long way. Allowing for wages, about 5 Twines.
Bit of Twittertalk linking us with Samuel Bastien, 25 year old midfielder at Standard Liege, in the last year of his contract.

It is with a big smile that Selim Amallah and Jackson Muleka returned to the Academy on Tuesday. The Moroccan and the Congolese underwent the pre-season physical tests and, like the rest of the group, attended the Business Meeting at the start of the evening. Two men who could move in the coming weeks as the interest concerning them is important.
Also back after his international obligations and his vacation, Samuel Bastien could also leave Standard a year before the end of his contract. Arriving on the banks of the Meuse in 2018, the defensive midfielder seems to have gone around the question on the banks of the Meuse. It comes back to us that Vincent Kompany and Burnley are keenly interested in the Congolese international. The latter is entering his last year of contract and Standard would not be against saving his salary, which is around €500,000. But the club descended into the Championship last season, which was also interested in Moussa Sissako who favors a full season at Standard, would also like to attract another Standardman to its ranks in the person of Jackson Muleka.

Vincent Kompany has been liking the player for some time and sees him as a forward for his project at Burnley. The leaders of Burnley have made an offer of €3 million (Standard will have to pay 50% to TP Mazembe) for the 22-year-old striker and they would be willing to add €800,000 to also complete the arrival of Samuel Bastien, thus linking both files. For his part, the former Chievo player is not against an adventure across the Channel.
If the Standard and Burnley seem to agree on the price of Muleka, the player and the English club have on the other hand no agreement at this time as there is a difference between supply and demand. Returning to the club on Tuesday, Jackson Muleka had a brief conversation with Ronny Deila who told him that he was counting on him and that he intended to understand what had happened last season and why the former management and staff had decided to lend it. For his part, Muleka is motivated to return to competition at Standard and intends to take the time to study all the options available to him, knowing that Galatasaray, Besiktas, Trabzonspor and even Red Star Belgrade are ready to welcome it. At the beginning of the week, Anderlecht, via Peter Verbeke,

I really rate Bastien. If we sign him, I'm quietly confident he'll be the best Congolese player we've ever had.

12 goals and 5 assists in 14 appearances for a team that finished 12th in the league is quite impressive.
Sounds like there’s a fair bit of interest though.

Me too. Of all the tenuous links to strikers I’ve never heard of, him and RV’s shout of Zirkzee would be my top picks.

According to 90 minutes six clubs have shown “interest” in “Championship “ player Josh Brownhill. Southampton are the latest along with Leicester, Brentford, Wolves, Everton and Dirty Leeds. However they state that as far as they know, none have made an approach yet. How that “interest” manifests itself is left to your imagination.

It's starting to pick up pace now, I think Kompany will go with
Out of the two CAM position's I think one will be Twine
CJ Egan-Riley or Mcnally could possibly play CDM with the other playing along side Collins in CD if he stays.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis would play RB and Taylor LB
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
I think there are a lot more ifs and buts. Collins/Cornet/McNeil I'd say are all more than likely to be sold.
The 4 signings this week may only just about cover who is still yet to be sold.
So we're going to need another 5-6 players.
Re: Summer 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
While I agree with the formation, I disagree with your player selection (aside from Twine).ClaretMov wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:06 amIt's starting to pick up pace now, I think Kompany will go with

Harwood Bellis is a CB so will play there, I think alongside Mcnally as I believe Collins will be sold. Egan Riley will be first choice back up.
Roberts right back unless sold with a new signing replacing him if he does go.
Neither McNally or Egan Riley will likely play CM, that will be Cork or a new signing, whoever that may be.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis under Kompany at Anderlecht played a lot of his games on the right of a back 3 or at RB in a 4
He also played exactly the same positions at Stoke, he's played more on the right than centre
Also there is no CM in 4222 it's CDM

If Collins does have to go, then £30m and a large sell on fee should be included, as there's every chance he'll move on again in a couple of years to a big 6 club for even bigger money.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:20 pmCollins stories appear to be gathering momentum.

Ideally I'd like to keep him for this coming season, but if the interest is as reported it's likely someone will take a punt on his potential.

I mean CM and CDM in terms of real football clubs isn't a massive distinction. We're not trying to get 100% chemistry on an online football game here.
