This tweeter has suggested that Lowton has asked if he can leave if he isn't going to get regular game time this season.
WBA are apparently interested but others may also now that we have given blessing for him to leave.

Well if Lowton is wanting out, then we'll definitely need to keep hold of Roberts.clarethomer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 9:44 amPutting this down to a brad jones type account so won't link to it as it only has small following and tweets and having googled the person who claims to be a journalist -there is no clear and obvious record of this being true on google.

Moving Lowton on would make sense if VK wants to prioritise building a younger side, but we wouldn't get a huge amount for him as he's entering the final year of his contract.
However it might allow us to get another higher earner off the books I suppose, and stop him walking on a free in 12 months.

Definitely an attention-seeker / fake account. The problem is, Twitter doesn't give the option to report these types of accounts.UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 9:51 amIt's got to be a fake account that. Not sure Lowton would be first choice in many Championship teams now. He would probably have to drop a divison to be totally guaranteed weekly football.

I suspected so hence why I didn't link to them. Don't want to give them any more clicks/links which makes their profile become more trusted as it gets promoted etc.

If Delap is available from City then I hope we're doing everything we can to get him here. Not sure he will be a regular starter in the Premier League so we need VK and AP to work their magic and get him to Burnley. He is exactly the profile of player we need to be adding to our forwards and maybe VK can persuade him to join by telling him he'll be first choice at Burnley.

I have watched quite a few Twine highlights videos and he has a great eye for a forward pass. If we want to get the best out of him then a speedy forward, who can get behind the defence, is an absolute necessity.

Those wanting Brownhill out are living in cloud cuckoo land!...
If we sell him, only a fraction will go back into the team and there is absolutely zero chance we will replace him with anything remotely as good unless we strike lucky with a young player and even then, it will take at least 2 or 3 seasons for them to get close to the same standard or surpass it.

The club is purposefully delaying the announcement but they're in the building.
Now for Midfield and Up top please.
If deals are done, medicals passed and contracts signed, why keep us fans just having to guess and speculate?

I would suspect it has a lot to do with the media team. It's very small at Burnley and if they've got kit release, new season, Clarets+ (Subscription service), a million things to sort out, they are probably stretched and between Turf and Gawthorpe all the time.It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 10:16 amI really don’t know why BFC are consistently delaying announcements.

Maybe that's the reason for looking at a player like Jackson Muleka. Not sure about that link though, seems he's been punted around half the clubs in Belgium and Turkey, looks like Liege want to cash after sending him out on loan last season. Could well be someone putting two and two together and getting 5 or an agent trying to get him in the news.claretabroad wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 10:12 amI have watched quite a few Twine highlights videos and he has a great eye for a forward pass. Not sure that Barnes and Jay are the right sort of profile for making the most of a defense splitting pass. Do we have any U23 forwards with pace? None that come to mind.

Whilst I'm very happy with the signings vk has made, especially twine, and the reported Egan Riley and Harwood bellis, not sure mcnally can make the step up so quickly. But it's imperative we keep the 4 players you've mentioned here, and especially McNeil and cornet, if we are letting any go then it has to be brownhill and Roberts. It's as simple as this for me keep them we go back up, I'd be moving hell and high water to convince them to stay, twine adds something we've been crying out for, a decent striker to replace weghorst and moving in the right direction. Fingers crossed the 4 of them are still with us come the Huddersfield game.

I think those pretending Brownhill's anything but bang average are living in cloud cuckoo land and were the same people on here all last season saying how sh**e and weak we were in central midfield. Apart from 4 or 5 games, all 4 of our central midfielders were absolutely embarrassingly weak last season and should be a high priority area to improve upon.BigChaCha wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 10:13 amThose wanting Brownhill out are living in cloud cuckoo land!...

It's no coincidence we got relegated when Westwood's form fell off a cliff and Dyche no longer trusted Cork who had never found form after injury and looked over the hill for the first 6 months of the season.
We lost all structure in the team when Brownhill came in, Mike Jackson knew that, that's why he immediately started with Cork and Westwood at West Ham. We were wide open with Brownhill in the team and water tight with the other two at their peak. 75% pass completion rate is pretty terrible.

I was told last season Muleka had a 4 mill euro buyout option in the loan deal to the Turkey club, there was rumours at the time they were gonna activate it then try to sell him immediately.dibraidio wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 10:28 amMaybe that's the reason for looking at a player like Jackson Muleka. According to media in Turkey, Besiktas won't be signing Jackson Mukela. We've apparently agreed a deal and he's having a medical with us. Journalist is very credible, commentates on Turkish top flight.

On a positive note, that Muleka looks a decent player. Have we gone quiet now on the other midfielders we were showing interest in?

I would be very excited by this, purely on the basis of YouTube (of course!). He scores all manner of goals having seen them all from Standard and then Kasimpasa. Left foot, right foot, scored quite a few with his head too (and a lovely lob for Standard).
He would represent the pacy, off the shoulder merchant you need at this level for promotion (that we had with Paterson, Ings and then Gray). I think a striker like that is a must for us to get anywhere near, and he is the right age profile too. Three million seems a good price to me for a player who is 22 and has scored 27 goals in 68 games across the Belgian and Turkish top flights.

Pleased with this, but I know absolutely nothing about him and looking at youtube videos of him doesn't really help for obvious reasons
But, and this a a huge caveat, how many signings like this (cheap and foreign) work and how many don't?
Its a gamble, and lets hope it works out

Not sure why Burnley would be paying almost double what it was quoted Besiktas had agreed to pay. At the weekend it was suggested that they could get him on loan for the season with a 3.5m Euro option to buy.

Kevin Sauvage (as legit as you can get on the Belgian league):
Standard is about to record its first major start in this transfer window. As we told you in our Wednesday edition, Burnley had targeted, at the request of Vincent Kompany, two Standardmen: Samuel Bastien and Jackson Muleka. The file of the latter would be about to be finalized.
According to our information, the two clubs have reached an agreement around €4M plus bonuses. The Standard would also benefit from 25% on the next sale. Note that the Liège club will have to pay 50% of the transfer amount to TP Mazembe as stipulated in the clause in his contract.
As for Jackson Muleka, a four-year contract would await him at Burnley. The transaction should be approved once the medical examination, passed in two stages, first in Belgium this Thursday and then in England, carried out. The 22-year-old striker will have to wait for a visa that should be issued to him early next week.
The departure of Jackson Muleka could well launch the incoming transfer window of the Liégeois who, we suspect, will probably look for a new striker.
