It does indeed, and we face the real prospect of losing Mee, Pope, Tarks, and possibly now Collins, that would be a severe blow to our hopes of a quick return, as that strong backline has been the bedrock of our success over recent seasons, keep clean sheets and you'll always get a chance in games to score, but with all due respect to Long and Thomas they'd be adequate at Championship level at best, and a lot of the better strikers would fancy their chances against that duo.

I’d hazard a guess that should we sell Collins it will be for mega money and in that case it’s highly unlikely we’d have Thomas and Long as centre backs. But then again, I see things logically.

He wrote a couple of articles on here a couple of years ago. As for Orsić, didn’t he sign a new deal after the move here collapsed? Read this week that the deal came to a stop because of how the payments were to be made. They wanted more up front.

It is. If he says something is happening with Irish players then it usually happens. No surprise if we do sell him, that’s the ALK model to sign young players and move them on at a profit.

Yes I assume that will be the model moving forward. To allow us to sign a better calibre of player we put in lowish release clauses.

Agree, I doubt we need another 6 foot 4 striker unless Weghorst is leaving.

Im sure there will be many links coming up, probably more than ever before. But at least it sounds like we are looking to make some early moves (Cullen noise picking up for example).
