Well we nearly did it but a poor 19th over from Liam Hurt.

Oh well, break for the CC now. Bit lacking in the quick department at the minute...

Has anybody else failed to get 32 from 24 balls with 6 wkts remaining.
Just enjoying the replay, not spoiled by knowing the outcome.
Well that question was soon history after Sussex’ capitulation against Gloucester last night.
Needed 27 from 37 with 7 wkts left. Lost by 4 runs.

Not sure why Tom Bailey isn’t doing some bowling in the T20

Northants-Lancs due to start soon as white ball cricket resumes again after a brief break.

Several regulars missing on England duty, but still a strong XI selected by Lancs who've won the toss and will bat 1st.

Bohannon gone 15-1 in the 4th, difficult pitch this one, so if Lancs can post 140-150 that might well prove enough.

Now Jennings out for 17, 25-2 and both openers back in the hutch.

39-2 after the powerplay.

Vilas gone for a breezy 38, 82-3 after 12, David at the crease could be some fireworks.

Croft gone for 25, 4 6's in the over for David though, 4 successive maximums as well. 114-4 after 14, David dropped next ball, and then caught the following delivery.

Lamb gone for 6, Wells looking in good nick though a boundary off his 1st ball.

153-7, strange innings very stop start, but with Lancs spin attack that could be defendable

153 posted, competitive but attainable. I reckon Northants are slight favourites but a couple of early wickets will help proceedings.

Rapid start by Northants, and yes Lancs will need a wicket or two to curb the scoring.

Looking grim tonight for Lancs,

Notts up next on Sunday at Blackpool.

And they're involved in a crazy game at Trent Bridge against Birmingham, who've racked up 261-2 a T20 record, but Notts making a good fist of it, 139-2 in the 12th, could be a close finish there in a runfest.

I'm not sure if an analysis has been done but it seems that scores in 50 and 20 overs games are just getting higher and higher. Is it that wickets (or balls) are getting more batsman friendly/ batsmen getting better/ bowlers getting worse?

Easy victory for Northants, who now draw level on points at the top with Lancs.

Probably all of the above, but batting is a different art these days, and most guys can hit sixes for fun.

In a 50/60 over game 200 used to be a good score, now sides are surpassing that in T20 and still finishing on the losing side.

Shorter boundaries, larger heavier bats, more adventurous, innovative batsmen and a tribe of pie-throwing bowlers but is it cricket?

Derbyshire beat Yorkshire in the final over DLS method.

Worcs-Northants abandoned without a ball being bowled, Northants go top for now, but Lancs can retake top spot with a win tomorrow.

Not a bad day, all things considered. Got the feeling, it’s just a case of damage limitations at the moment, before we get the best part of 50% of our side back

Yes although the bad news is if Lancs make finals day it coincides with England-India in an ODI series, so there's no guarantee Lancashire, or indeed the other counties involved will be able to call upon all their stars.

2 home games at Blackpool, before a trip to Derby to complete the T20 stuff for now, and then it's back to the CC.

Agree and I've checked, T20 finals day is 16th July, smack bang in the middle of the Eng-Ind ODI matches.

For a start finals day is supposed to be one of the centrepieces in the calendar, and it might well comprise of shadow teams playing one another, instead of the cream in white ball talent showcasing their skills on the biggest domestic shade.

Almost as farcical as the Blast being shifted to shoehorn The Hundred and it’s mad marketing budget into the heat of summer.

Don't get me started on The Hundred nonsense, complete joke of a competition, at least the IPL have stuck to a successful format.

19 off that final over, doesn't help does it, and Lancs will have to bat better than they've done in the last 2 games.

Important we do get the points today, otherwise it'll be 3 defeats on the spin.

Not sure - I know that technically we could get Salt and Wood back for next Thursday night at Blackpool as the final INT game in Holland finishes Wednesday night.

The issue is with ECB central contracts which could hamper finals day on 16 July as is smack in the middle of the ODI series against India.

I guess it’s the same for all counties - I think the Wood and Salt call ups in particular have cost us a couple of games.

All good at Blackpool CC today - 4,500 capacity to watch a good game of cricket with the sun shining. Weather set even better for Thursdays game (1730 start) so lots of interest.

Nice to see a few claret shirts in the ground too!

We didn't make it over to Blackpool unfortunately, but watched the stream. Brilliant to see Crofty get us over the line at home!

Fingers crossed for Salt and Wood, I think we've missed a bit of bite in the attack.

Also, I'm not sure quite the same for the other counties when 3 of our boys scored 350 between them on Friday, a big miss, haha!

A couple of key games in the Blast tonight.

Notts-Leics

Derbyshire-Northants

Big games in the battle for a top 4 place.

Lancs may already have enough points, but it's important they retain a top 2 berth to ensure a home QF.

As for Yorkshire they face a nervy couple of weeks to see whether they make the KO stages.
