Good luck Liverpool!
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
But they wouldn’t have checked 250,000 tickets, so I highly doubt that’s what the French minister was alluding to.
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Almost as if the French Minister was talking rubbish then, which is what Oliver Kay said.
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Or he could’ve been implying that 70% of the tickets they had checked were fake.
It wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility that people with fake tickets would try to gain entrance to the stadium before people with real tickets turned up.
But yes, 70% still does sound unpropotionally high.
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
How long before the compo claims go in.

If the attendance was 75,000 and 70 per cent of tickets checked were fake then I make that 52500 fakes were presented.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
I guess the way you do the maths depends on whether you think they let the people with fake tickets in or not.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 9:22 pmIf the attendance was 75,000 and 70 per cent of tickets checked were fake then I make that 52500 fakes were presented.
I assume they did not let fake tickets in so the people in the stadium had genuine tickets so- 75,000 genuine tickets in the stadium= 30% of total tickets.... 70% still outside with fakes = 175,000.
If you assume they let all the fakes in - then 75,000 in the stadium would be 70% fake (52,500) and only 30% in stadium would be genuine (22,500). That would leave 52,500 people with genuine tickets outside the stadium.
Both of these scenarios are absolutely implausible. The conclusion is that the French Interior Minister was talking through his backside.

However anybody does the maths the figures quoted are farcical.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
175,000 fake tickets????
Somebody has made a lot of money then.
At say £100 per ticket is that £17.5 million
Even £50 per ticket is nearly £9 million.
The numbers themselves are just too unbelievable. John and his mate in the pub must have been working very hard these last few weeks. Did they keep wheeling a couple of pallet trucks round the pubs?

Reports in the papers this morning about some of the same problems at the Real Madrid end.
How could that be?

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
I've been researching Hysel this morning. The post seems to have been removed now. Whoever it was, was arguing that Liverpool fans never get the blame, well they did after Hysel.
Anyhow, I came across something I didn't know. Ronnie Jepson was charged with manslaughter after Hysel. He was eventually acquitted. I just had no idea about this, I assume everyone else did?

Wow, whilst it wouldn’t be beyond UEFA to push the blame towards Liverpool but I would be hugely shocked if they did it is clear this was at least partly caused by high level organisation planning being crap and totally outside the Clubs hands.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
This ticket must be fake.
Champions is spelt wrong.
Apart from that, I think it's a good effort and I can see why the French thought so too.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Have any Liverpool fans actually held their hands up about getting in with fake tickets or are they still playing innocent victims ? Bet there’s whiplash claims from when the queue came to an abrubt halt as well …
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Nobody will admit to it.... Several boasted on twitter about getting in without tickets at the time but bet they won't be found.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 5:45 pmHave any Liverpool fans actually held their hands up about getting in with fake tickets or are they still playing innocent victims ? It's been obvious the French authorities have been lying through their teeth.
It's the wrong fan base to lie about. They will keep going for years and years until the truth is admitted.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
In a perverse way it’s probably reassuring if the French didn’t just have it in for English supporters then.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
I think all the evidence from the videos so far backs up the Liverpool fans so far.
I was fooled by an early video of fans climbing the fence but it turned out to be French locals.
They were very calm after being tear gassed. I'm not sure I could have been if my young kids had been gassed by the robo cops.

Statement from UEFA
No football fan should be put in that situation, and it must not happen again.
A full enquiry to follow.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Why do people allow there in grained prejudice get in the way of seeing what is plainly obvious.
Real Madrid have said there fans suffered similar and UEFA have admitted that it was unacceptable and a full investigation is to happen. We need to be better than comments like I have quoted.

Re: Good luck Liverpool!
Why would UEFA apologise if it was all the fault of Liverpool fans?
I don’t understand.
I don’t understand.
Re: Good luck Liverpool!
So large numbers of fans go without tickets a smaller but still considerable number go with fake tickets . These fans then try and gain entry to the ground but yet somehow they have not contributed to the trouble. Truly the scousers are now teflon coated.JarrowClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 6:11 pmWhy do people allow there in grained prejudice get in the way of seeing what is plainly obvious.

Real Madrid seem to have complained their fans were not effectively protected by the police from attack from local yobs.

Okay you are aware that Liverpool and Madrid fans had different routes to the entrances? There were more natural choke points on Liverpools route anyway you have made your mind up so pointless explaining to you.Bigbopper wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 8:45 pmSo large numbers of fans go without tickets a smaller but still considerable number go with fake tickets . It has nothing to do with lick arsing anyone I am just able to look at facts and not condemn based on pre conceived opinions. What I will say as much as I disagree with you and believe you are prejudiced against Liverpool fans for some reason, it is your opinion which you are entitled to.
