Ouzo leaving
Alex Ouzounoglou moving to Man U. I met him years ago when we were funding heart monitors.

Re: Ouzo leaving
There can be little doubt that our club had progressed by leaps and bounds from 1998 and BK taking over. Yes we had blips but to end the 20teens with a successful Prem league club meant we must have got a lot correct.
The astonishing loss of staff since our new owners took over smacks of throwing the baby out with the bathwater and on the balance of probabilities things are going to get a lot worse before (if ever) they get better. It seems mind bogglingly stupid to have had such a clear out implying "we know better and can do better"
After all our new owners are steeped in the knowledge of the British games and perhaps to reverse a common saying "Brits are NOT Americans who speak with a strange accent?"
Oh Mr Garlick and others "What have you done?"

Really happy to be proved wrong and ALK get us back to the big time within three seasons but if they don't......
The doubters will be shown correct and to see the likes of Mercer and Beattie shown the front door seems from the outside bizarre
Brexit-what is/was that? Another neologism perhaps with little substance?

Good move though for Ouzo, getting into a club the size of Man U.

ALK haven’t made one correct decision yet.
You seem to be totally against ALK (not saying you’re wrong). What’s feeding this negativity? Genuine question.

Surely you can make an exception, look at it as a donation to charity.Blakesboots wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 9:18 pmI don’t bet money, I will agree to meet you for a coffee if I’m wrong.
You seem to duck out of all the big calls.
As you are no doubt an American perhaps you have not heard of the phrase
“ Put your money where your mouth is”
You certainly seem to have a lot of mouth.

Not sure ‘Christ on a bike’ is an American expression!
Having read this thread could Blakesboots please tell me what he considers ‘the bet’ to be and will ‘paulatky’ then please confirm, or the other way round.
Too much wiggle room for my liking.

I didn’t say the majority but a lot yes.
Just wait till interest rates rise later this year and see the effect it will have

Since he's accepted your wager.... which of you is going to fly to the other's country? The winner of the bet or the loser? Since he's undoubtedly an American. Of course it's possible he lives in the UK and is an American. But just curious.paulatky wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 9:24 pmSurely you can make an exception, look at it as a donation to charity.

There is no bet.
Just an agreement that if we don’t return to the Premier League within 3 seasons then I will happily meet him for a coffee at Turf Moor.
I get nor want anything in return.
Re: Ouzo leaving
Ahh... my mistake I didn't realize the coffee meet up was at the Turf. It's just he was so sure you're an American I wondered who had to travel where to share the cup. But if it's at the Turf I guess he's assuming you'll be taking that transatlantic flight.

You: oh well I was wrong
PaulAtky: Indeed
You: Shopping centre looks nice though - "The Pace Centre" - great name!
Paul Atky: Yes not bad
You: Cocktail and a bag of nachos
PaulAtky: Don't mind if I do.

Were Mercer and Beattie shown the door? Maybe they wanted to leave with Dyche, Woan and the others.mdd2 wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 12:42 pmReally happy to be proved wrong and ALK get us back to the big time within three seasons but if they don't......
