A manager nowadays would never tell the press how many players they are signing. I find it weird how much info was given by managers at that time.

I think it is fair to say that Heath was very naive. One local journalist once told me that he would answer their questions before they'd even asked them. He even wrote a weekly column in the Burnley Express.

Wonder who the 3 potential signings were.

Interesting comments from Allardyce on Robinson. Never really struck me as being a potential asset to anyone

Robinson had been successful at Bury but was never so at Burnley

Weren't the signings supposed to be Mark Patterson, Sean Dyche and Mixu Paatelainen? I recall Patterson being photographed in the shirt with a scarf, then somebody pulled the plug.

Didn’t Patterson fail his medical but then sign for someone else? Definitely remember the photo!

There’s much more to come yet with Heath’s muddled transfer activity.

He was very disappointing especially given he was (i think) our record signing at the time

Didn't he cost us around 300k?

Then it was Kurt Nogan who broke that record wasn't it? Sorry going off topic a little but one memory reminder brings several random ones 😃

I’m certain it was Kurt and then Paul Barnes I would think.
