Not much detail, but a promising article about how Kompany might attract players we otherwise wouldn't have bagged.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61803465

I'll opt for 7/8 newbies arriving, though some if not all will likely involve loans in some form, perhaps loans with an option to buy could be a good way for us to utilise the market.

Now the retained list has finally been revealed we've got more of an idea what we'll require, although it's almost certain other big names will depart.

For me priority positions are

CB (Harewood-Bellis on loan maybe)
LB (Taylor should be comfortable at this level, so unless we can pick up someone on a free, this isn't an area I'd be spending big on this window.
CM X2 (Cullen) and one other, Westwood won't be available for a good few months, Cork hasn't yet committed to resigning, so we will need strengthening in the engine room.
RW (JBG simply can't be relied on to stay fit for a lengthy spell, and we badly need someone who can create something from wide areas.
Strikers X2 (Cornet & Weghorst won't be here come September, and I'm not convinced Barnes or Jay Rod have the legs for a full 46 game slog in the Champ, young pacy striker in the Andre Gray mould would be top of my shopping list.

Now whether we'll have the funds to manage all that I have my doubts, and we may have to look at promoting some of our own youngsters, if Kompany deems them capable of making the step up.
Knobbers are linked with Gray

Bump.

So Twine through the door, hopefully the first of many to arrive.

Makes a welcome change to actually be in a window with genuine anticipation of new signings, it's been a long time coming.

How right you were.

2 through the door now, a defender and a midfielder, strikers should be our next priority I'd imagine.

Trouble is, it seems to be a revolving door! The whole squad seem to be up for transfer. That's one way of clearing the debt....keep the ground, seel the players. Bit like the Martin Dobson Stand!

Sell for much buy for pennies. Hope it works!

So the 2 newbies today take us to 4, and it sounds like we haven't finished yet by any means.

I expected a busy summer, but even I'm surprised by the scale of our business, both in and out, it'll certainly be a vastly different looking XI which takes to the field at Huddersfield compared to the XI which lined up against Brighton at the onset of last season.

The 4. The Kosovo keeper. The 2 lads from Liege. And 1 other rando we get blindsided by.

So 8.

Looks like the bath water and the bath going...

Nottingham Forest will reportedly sign Burnley goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey as well as completing a loan move for Dean Henderson this summer.

Looks like we are clearing out all the dead wood along with the big earners.

I would expect more on the move out, lets just hope we don't go overboard or it will back fire and cost us more in the long run

4 in so far but hopefully Muric, Bastien, Muleka are also incoming. We will still need another LB, a RW, replacement for Cornet, another CM and another striker as Vydra is likely to go. So maybe 12 in total which will include loans.

Yes I posted on another thread it's a tricky balance between freshening up the squad, which is obviously required, while not totally losing all our experience and know how, which will also be crucial in a long tough Championship slog.

Which is why re-signing Cork, Barnes & Jay Rod could be crucial.

I'd hope all that trio would be important in the Championship, they know exactly what it takes to get out of that league, and with younger legs around them they should prove a class apart, Cork in particular oozes quality at that level.

Now whether all 3 will play 46 games I highly doubt, but that's where the depth of our squad will be vital.

May not be far off with this, although I hope your wrong with regards to cornet and vydra, also hope Richardson is fit enough to figure somewhere along the line.

5 now with Bastien confirmed, but plenty have also gone out, so we'll surely be looking at another 4/5 minimum, even if no-one else departs.

And all the newbies are 25 or under, so we'll certainly see the average age drop dramatically, which is no bad thing TBH.
