I’m sure Tarks has got a lovely signing on fee. But do you honestly think he would have turned down a move to a top 6 side for Everton?

The fees are often accurate according to the wise one on here, so it must be right.

It’s too early to say thatStayingup wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 4:02 pmSo we're selling anybody who is saleable. That is who we can get a half decent fee for. The door hasn't closed yet, so we could end up raking in @£90 million and replaceing the outgoigs with £10 million incomings. It should pay off the debt I suppose, but doesn't bode well for this season.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I honestly don't think it's a case of us "selling anybody who's saleable". It's far more a case of players not wanting to stay and play in the Championship when they believe they should be playing higher. Collins came to us because Stoke couldn't offer PL football and didn't look likely to anytime soon. He's now tasted the PL and has shown he's definitely good enough for it (notwithstanding his bizarre handball which played a big part in our eventual demise!!) He was always going to go this summer and the club just had to accept it and get the best deal they could screw out of it. Pope was exactly the same, as was Weghorst and more may yet follow like, Cornet, Taylor, Roberts et al. If players want out, even if they have lengthy contracts, there's no point deliberately blocking it, you just have to accept it and make the best of it.

Yeah, just beats Robbie Keane's £19 million.
For cumulative transfers, Keane is well ahead of everyone though.

we've had a really good window so far, we sell the one player we new would go and half the fan base go into meltdown. Pretty clear where the "shambles" should be directed.

There’s opinions then there’s outright slating the club and owners at every opportunity. People tagging Pace on twitter etc. Slandering McNeil the other day for losing the ball at Wolves. Embarrassing.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 5:59 pmI genuinely don’t get the attraction with bashing other fans opinions.

here's the difference, it's clear who those in meltdown are across all the social platforms and they are basing their opinions on no facts whatsoever. You carry on being you though as you are more than entitled to. I'm waiting for you to criticize the club for getting Cullen for only 3 millionNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:03 pmIt’s part and parcel off football.

agreed on the incomings, I've been happy with them all. Our midfield has had a huge upgrade today. We deffo need a right winger thoughNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:09 pmPretty happy with Cullen it’s an area we have needed to invest in for years.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I would say McNeil will play off the right under Kompany. That’s where he’s been in the friendlies so far. Probably need someone off the left unless Cornet is staying or Twine plays there.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:30 pmagreed on the incomings, I've been happy with them all. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Do you say winger on the assumed basis of Cornet going, or just on a ‘as things stand’ stance? I’d say a centre forward is priority, with another attacking midfielder secondary for sure.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:30 pmagreed on the incomings, I've been happy with them all. because JBG is unfortunately made of glass. No way we can rely on him to play enough games in a seasonjedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:36 pmDo you say winger on the assumed basis of Cornet going, or just on a ‘as things stand’ stance? Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
For me he played his best football of the season on the right with Roberts on the overlap, the two of them looked very good together. Jackson said he made the switch so he could get Dwight picking up better spaces in more effective areas of the pitch. Think Kompany’s system will do similar!Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 6:36 pmI've not seen the line ups. I'm not sure I like him on the right tbh

Cooper would ‘fit the bill’ so to speak in terms of lowish fee, 22 years old and very highly rated. Not sure there’s been any links with Substance yet though.

Those bemoaning the perceived lack of ready made top end Championship players that we’ve brought in should be delighted with the arrival of Cullen. Serious addition to our squad.

Interesting comment on the club tweet
As an Ireland fan whose followed both throughout their careers, this is a great days business 4 Burnley. Youve bought our most important player for a snip and made a killing on Collins who admittedly does have the potential to become world class but as such, would've left anyway
