The Granata are also close to signing Artem Dovbyk on loan with an obligation to buy if they stay.

It's a poor source. I wouldn't read too much into that
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Re the goalscorer topic.
Honestly , I think we’l get a few when it clicks across the team.
Whether it’s enough for promotion is anyones guess.
Who would have though a Scottish centre half from Reading would fire us to promotion from div4 those yrs ago.
What I can say for sure is that I loved SD’s tenure, but even as an ardent fan of his , most of all I’m a Burnley fan. I for one am now enjoying the football again. Watching this team develop is something I can’t wait for tomorrow.
It’s been quiet on the lad from Stuttgart today have I missed anything? The CB from Metz would be a dream signing imho too.
Sorry for going slightly off topic at the start of my post, I just wanted to highlight my thoughts. Sean is a legend who did miracles with the hand dealt , I’m just happy to watch some of the football recently which has got me on my feet again . If this one isn’t a promotion season then so be it, patience and a late charge to around the playoffs was my expectation at the start of the season and I think is still realistic

Maybe Churlinov is going to be revealed at tonight’s game

Have I missed a page, who is Dia?
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I think it's more to do with them geting Artem Dovbyk on loan rather than Dia.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Di Marzio is generally reliable but they're not always right, it was them saying Ramsey to Burnley was very close shortly before he signed for Rangers.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Can’t say I’m that excited by Churlinov. We need a proper striker imo if we are to go up. The Ukrainian striker would have been an exciting signing.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Me too Boss. Still time of course but I’d like to see several strikers being linked. I’d have loved us to bring in Delap from City, he sounds an exciting prospect, looks like Stoke or West Brom will get him.

Or better the devil we know…. We have no idea how good a manager they have, all we know is they have started the season better organised, and scoring goals. We don’t know if the Diaz money will be used to free him up in the transfer market… he may even be able to trade up with a couple of players, if the sale goes through.

If we"re looking for a centre forward, Paul Onuachu (Genk) fits pur bill
28year old Nigerian, 6ft tall with good technical ability
Costrpice may rise to about Euro 10M, but a loan to buy deal may suit us

Yeah he's enormous, expected to leave and has been previously linked with Atletico Madrid and other big clubs in Europe for £20m. He was one I suggested for us in the PL.

Yeah, 2.01 meter to be correct - I'm not to good in conversing, but 6 feet plus for sure
Technically sound despite his height though and more than capable of holding his own against tough championship defenders

One inch is 2.54cm
So a metre is 39.37 inches

Churlinov problems with Medical apparently but the linked article suggests it's a visa issue.

Yeah same, the journo made it sound more of a medical issue then linked an article saying it was visa issue preventing the medical. Thursday for the medical according to that link.

Good. Wasn't what we needed, and despite it being reported numerous times that we were not interested, some still saw him as our 20 goal a season man.claretandy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:43 amDelap gone to Stoke as predicted.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I doubt he is likely to be a 20 goal a season man this season. He’s a young kid with no experience. Kompany said as much last week although I do believe there was more than a little interest in him. I’m sure his dad will have played a part in this deal.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I wonder how much a 30 game clause (or similar) would have played in us going for Delap. You’d imagine any such rule on a striker (especially one so young) would really make us cautious. If he didn’t hit the ground running or fit in we really couldn’t keep playing him.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:51 amI doubt he is likely to be a 20 goal a season man this season. I remember us trying to sign a young striker on loan from Spurs in 2013. Whatever we were being asked to pay for him was doubled if he didn’t play every game so we pulled out.KlyBfc wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:57 amI wonder how much a 30 game clause (or similar) would have played in us going for Delap. He’s scored a few goals since though I have to admit.

Andy Jones said this
‘As I have reported over the last month, Burnley held a very brief initial interest when Kompany first arrived but that was it. They decided to explore other targets instead and never returned to the Delap race.’

And I agree with the stance. We can’t play someone just for financial reasons.

Stoke have just brought a winger, Fosu from Brentford, in. With having Dwight Gayle already they look at lot healthier up top end.
