Yep. Sorry for the lack of clarity.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Belgian press seem to be reporting the Muleka deal isn’t happening.
HLN also suggesting we will make a bid for Josh Cullen:
‘Another likely to leave is Josh Cullen (26). His contract ends in 2023 and Burnley has been sniffing at the Irishman for a while. Vincent Kompany would like to bring Cullen to The Championship and according to English sources, The Clarets are planning an initial offer of 2 million euros. The question is whether Anderlecht will find that enough. It itself paid only 500,000 euros for the midfielder, but now of course wants maximum return.’
As well, the article links us to their 19 year old keeper Bart Vergruggen who our new GK coach likes.

Looks like Muleka is off and Bastien is still on. Strange given they are both from DR Congo, would have though they would hinge on each other.RVclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 5:32 amBelgian press seem to be reporting the Muleka deal isn’t happening.

Cullen would be a decent coup at 2million euros.
We still need a striker though.. Watford and Middlesborough are after Armstrong on loan from Southampton, he'd be a good option for us.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Yes sounds like Bastien is still on track according to the same article. Let’s hope we have several striker targets as back ups as I feel that’s a priority position now!UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 5:41 amLooks like Muleka is off and Bastien is still on. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Sorry I read it wrong, doesn’t say he is our new GK coach, rather Kompany insists he joins (google translate):
‘That should not come as a surprise, because Kompany insists – in addition to physical coach Bram Geers – also take goalkeeper coach Jelle Ten Rouwelaar to Burnley. The latter has a soft spot for Verbruggen, but Anderlecht also see a future in the Dutchman. They want to launch it through the U23 team in 1B.’

If Muleka has found a league / level he’s now proven himself at then I can understand that can be more attractive to return there than moving to new league and then potentially not pulling up any trees like he struggled in Belgium.UpTheClaretsFCBK wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 5:41 amLooks like Muleka is off and Bastien is still on. So unless this transfer has got more afew more twists it’s on to plan B.

Big problem with that one is that they only have 5 senior players contracted at the moment.
Tough for them to let any go unless it’s an outrageous offer.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Also, on the subject of Muleka, I wouldn’t write it off yet.
I remember last summer how Cornet was desperate to join Hertha Berlin ahead of us - and he probably was. The bottom line is that Lyon only agreed a sale price with us, so he had to take Burnley’s offer or stay at a club that didn’t want him.
If Beskitas cannot afford him/cannot match our bid (which has been accepted) then the player either comes to Burnley and no doubt gets a large pay increase and plays in a far bigger league, or he stays where he is.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I think given the direction we're moving in with regards to transfers and the desire to get things done early, it's more than likely that Burnley will just move on. With Cornet we decided to wait it out, but Kompany doesn't seem to want to hang around.jedi_master wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 8:00 amAlso, on the subject of Muleka, I wouldn’t write it off yet.

I’ll bet that Weghorst only does a year there, as they won’t be able to afford the “option”.

They must be skint. All the stories that are claiming Mukela wants to go there are quoting that they want a 1 year loan.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 8:25 amDoesn’t sound like Besiktas have a pot to **** in.

It's not like we've put up a massive fee to sign him, 4 million euros and they can't afford to match it.
The hold up with Weghorst is because we can't agree on 'option to' vs 'obligation to' to buy.

Kylian Hazard, brother of Eden and Thorgan has expressed an interest to work with Kompany. Currently at Cercle Brugges, he’s on Watford’s radar but has stated he would prefer #BFC.

LancsLive stating there's no issues with the Mukela deal this morning..
"The Liege striker is still expected to complete his move to Burnley despite reports over the weekend of late interest from Besiktas.
The Clarets are keen to tie up a deal worth £3.5million and are also working on a deal for Muleka's team-mate Samuel Bastien with a fee of around £800,000 mooted for the midfielder. The 25-year-old is in the last year of his contract and is also an international team-mate of Muleka with DR Congo."

I’m honestly not bothered about missing out on Muleka. Can’t help but feel as though he was a risk. Could have obviously paid off but who knows. Would much rather see us go in for an established championship goal scorer.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
With conflicting reports out there (and nobody fully believing Boden is in the loop), hopefully it's a ploy to force the deal through, panicking the agent/player to realise they might lose out on the deal on the table, and stopping them trying to play us off against another club.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 04, 2022 9:28 amHe’s saying he believes the deal is completely off now
The club seems to have shifted the mentality to trying to get deals done early, and also not being prepared to be messed around, just from seeing with what happened with the Ballard deal. Whilst you might pay a bit more, at least you're not left with no signings at the end of the window when they fall through, or panic buying dross which we have done previously.
We've had a reputation for penny pinching and last minute buying, which isn't ideal for either the buying or selling club, so hopefully this is a new dawn.

Boden’s ‘sources’ or ‘information’ are usually from other outlets/pages on Twitter rather than from someone inside the club. So I would be extremely surprised if he knew anything more than the next man at this stage.

Regarding Muleka I think it's just a visa issue and he's back training with his team, once it's sorted it won't be a problem everything else including the first part of the medical is done, it's probably certain media putting 2 and 2 together and making 5 but time will tell, if not move on to another target Kompany will have plenty of back up
