His goalscoring touch has gone, yet to be rediscovered.
If he can't score in a fast attacking team that creates chances then he's not going to score here either.

Well that's always been an interesting discussion, but, of course, if our wages are high enough they'll come, especially if they rate the set up and manager, but they'll most likely live in the Ribble Valley or Cheshire.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:04 pmThat’s like using the argument as to why anyone would want to come to Burnley
If Toulouse were offering a better deal than MK Don's, then I can totally see why he would choose to play on the French 2nd tier.
(Which was what you were questioning - I think!)

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
His clash with Jones looked to me to be Jones fault. He was out of his technical area and should have been the one shown the card in my view. Regarding Roberts he has yet to convince me. He might be better if we can get a dominating centre half.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:04 pmYes, Roberts still to win me over. Two games playedand two clashes with opposition managers. Seems to throw it a.bit further with a drier ball but nothing to suggest he is an upgrade on Lowton.

I agree.
We had a good view.
Jones was out of order on several counts but Roberts got a yellow for trying to get on with the game.
(Jones knew exactly what he was doing and the referee not only let him get away with it but then booked Roberts)

yep and he is followed by Fabrizio Romano so he's legit - can't see us winning this battle as the Besikatas can offer European footy (no idea if the others can)

Depends what he wants. Does he want regular football or to sit on the bench?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 2:42 amyep and he is followed by Fabrizio Romano so he's legit - can't see us winning this battle as the Besikatas can offer European footy (no idea if the others can)
Besiktas have considerable forward options and I can’t see any reason why he would be a regular over some
of the more established players.

In the box beneath it translates as:
“Not only Bayern want him. For Konrad there is a long list of teams asking about him: Burnley, Besiktas, Olympiakos, Moenchengladbach and Porto.”
Very doubtful we could get this over the line.

It’s probably going to come down to whether he wants a bit more money or better weather.

In terms of a fee , I've seen figures of between 6 and 7 million euros. I would suggest that this is more than we are willing to pay.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 7:08 amIn the box beneath it translates as:

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I keep asking this question but never get a definitive response? Is Luke Richardson a possible answer? Or is he still injured?
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Presume you mean Lewis?
He’s played and scored in both of the last 2 u21 games.
He was out for most of last season with a serious injury.
Check out CT’s match report from yesterdays game.
It would be nice to see him (Richardson, not CT) on the bench on Friday.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I’m not sure I would agree with you. We were desperate for someone like Benson to come on the left so we could attack with pace from both sides on Saturday - especially as Maatsen was running on fumes in the last 20 minutes.claretandy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 6:22 amI'm not sure another tiny winger is what we need at the minute.
I think with the way VK wants to play this lad would just be classed as a forward. Someone who could play anywhere across the front 3 positions and give options.
Agree we still need a proper number 9 too though.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Vitiniho seemed to do well from the left when he came on, and Benson from the right, the defenders must have been bricking it.

We are crying out for another winger we currently only have benson as a currently fit senior winger, twine hopefully is out long and he can play there but I think he’s more of a number 10 then we only have JBG and Costelloe

Hardly played, doesn't score, has created practically nothing. All these clubs mentioned sounds like a very hard working agent. Considering we need some money put by for a striker, and we already have Vitinho, Benson, Costello and JBG (when fit), plus other flexible players who can do a job on the wing, I would let it go, IF there is any truth in it.

Glad it wasn’t just me. I’ve seen lots of plaudits for Vitinho and suggestions he did better than Dara. Vitinho did a great step over to beat his man initially but then fumbled about a bit and didn’t do anything else of note. Potentially a great full back option but not an attacker.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 9:14 amDid ok... Beat his man once. Ran into the defender a couple of times. We need definitely need two more attackers, I think twine takes the left hand side role but if he’s out for 4 wks that’s a lot of games and so more goal threats are a must asap.

According to

Abde Ezzalzouli would have 4 concrete loan offers and he should make his decision at the end of next week: Celta Vigo, Cadiz, OGC Nice and Burnley.

I think he came on with 9 minutes remaining. And on his less preferred side? Impossible to evaluate his performance on that basis, I would say?forzagranata wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 10:23 amVitinho is primarily a full-back/wing back isn't he? But from what I recall, he created more chaos in their defence in 9 minutes than I Costelloe did in the previous 81. He ran at them twice, beat him once and ran in to him the second time. Costelloe’s play was much more measured, controlled but cautious, I’d say. Probably why he starts, but at that point in the game we needed to create something and Vitinho looked more likely imo.
