Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
well he only scored 7 for Bournemouth last season and has amassed a grand total of 94 goals in 362 career games, hardly the prolific striker we need on the face of it

Is he left or right sided cb, if left given he's height and the fact it was something we were missing on Saturday I would have thought it a no brainer, it was the fact we'd no height to clear in the 1st place that led to the goal on Saturday.

Excellent stuff. No transfer window is complete without a bit of flight-tracking.WiscoClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:02 amHere’s a rumor:
Jamal Lowe missing from the Bournemouth Squad, we need a striker something bad, Kompany says there are loads of plates spinning in a post match presser, and Lowe is potentially on this private jet to Manchester.

28 in December (doesn't fit the model we've been using so far), not sure if his agent is just using our name because we are active in the market this summer.
Sounds like he's had an injury hit pre season (abductor injury) and has only played 45 minutes, add to this Toulouse have signed another striker.

Can’t say I have seen him play.
Interestingly most of his goals last season came in and around the 6 yard box. Looks like a poacher.
I guess this is one you have to trust the manager on

I'm pretty sure there is a bit of flexibility for players outside of the model we've used so far, especially if it is the "missing piece" who wil hopefully do the job here and now.Goody1975 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 10:44 am28 in December (doesn't fit the model we've been using so far), not sure if his agent is just using our name because we are active in the market this summer.

Not saying there is anything in the Healey rumour specifically, but I wouldn't discount players because they are 28.

The question would be what’s the standard of the French second division compared to the championship, did Healey not leave MK Dons in league 1 to go to French second tier

No idea, but he’d scored 12 in 20 for MK Dons on L1 before moving to France. Decent scoring record over the last few years.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 11:26 amThe question would be what’s the standard of the French second division compared to the championship, did Healey not leave MK Dons in league 1 to go to French second tier
How that would equate to the Championship, I don’t know.

The lack of a goal scorer is already costing us points, this needs sorting ASAP. Barnes is hopeless, we need much better up front.

Don’t know enough about him it just seems strange at the time that French league 2 was the best option for him other than MK Dons.agreenwood wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 11:28 amNo idea, but he’d scored 12 in 20 for MK Dons on L1 before moving to France. Decent scoring record over the last few years.

Would be interesting to see the Metz lad join us. Maybe this Healey link is to try and push The Metz player closer?

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Absolutely and I'm still not convinced Roberts is a better player than Lowts. Although younger and probably suits VK's system more, for Roberts' apparent attacking quality reputation, we haven't yet really seen it bar a few flashes.KlyBfc wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 9:30 pmLowton has been excellent for us. He played a crucial role in a team that won the championship title going 23 games unbeaten. He played a prominent role in the side which finished 7th and qualified for European Football. He also played regularly through our stay in the top flight and the highest moments in our clubs recent history (80s onwards). He had some dips in form, but he gave everything at all times.

I'm not sure that's how it works, couldn't we sign him on 30 grand a week and pay him a £2m signing on fee to make up the difference? Also don't the selling club sometimes contribute towards the wage, like City did with Joe Hart.

We need a striker yes and have twoo decent ones but both injured. But we also need a dominant Centre Half.

Yes, Roberts still to win me over. Two games playedand two clashes with opposition managers. Seems to throw it a.bit further with a drier ball but nothing to suggest he is an upgrade on Lowton.

Maybe a bit random for some ,but how about a loan to buy option on Chris Wood.
Love him or hate him he knows where the goal is and with the service we are giving our strikers could get 30 goals easily.

Represented by the same people as Maatsen, Cornet, McNeil, Pieters and Stephens. Clearly an agent who we've dealt with a bit this summer....

One from left field.
Michael Obafemi, Swansea. Runs all day, good pace and can finish if given the chance.
No idea what he might cost or if they would sell.

I can’t see him coming back. He was Dyche’s man and it would be hugely embarrassing to come back after six months. Nor could I see Newcastle/Howe allowing it after spinning £25m.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:38 pmMaybe a bit random for some ,but how about a loan to buy option on Chris Wood.

I think we need a fast striker now.

No use a player like Wood. He’s just a cart horse and we don’t lump it up exclusively for a big man like we used to ( thankfully )

This. We shouldn’t be looking for a six yard box poacher-type. It suggests scoring a preponderance from set pieces. That’s not our game anymore. I would bet 50p, and I don’t bet, that we score more from outside the six yard box this season than we do inside it
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I'm sure Woods happy up there being a squad man on about 80k a week, move on.
