Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Can’t keep track of all this. The last couple of days of the window should be fun.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Just read that Chelsea haven’t even given shirt numbers to Ross Barkley, Billy Gilmour and Michy Batshuayi amongst others.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Apparently Isaak Davies was a bright spark of Cardiff’s season and Bellamy was a big fan of his when he was at the academy.
Though has missed most of pre season and is out injured until the end of this month.

I think Batshuayi would be a good fit for us tbh but can’t see it happening

I’ll be pretty worried if that’s what we’re doing on the striker front!Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 1:15 pmDoes look a talented lad but not that’s a pretty shocking return

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
The Davies thing would make a lot of sense, given Bellamy’s past. However, I don’t want a young, untried one for the future coming in, we’ve arguably got two of those already in the U21’s. What we need is a forward that’s going to come in and start, immediately.

I would like the move if its alongside a senior striker or 2. Get that youth in , give him a year and he can take a bigger role when Barnes leaves next year

Still not convinced about the source on this one (Portuguese’s version of the Sun) but definitely the most exciting / interesting name we are currently linked with.

I think Cabral was a character in Mortal Kombat 3.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I can't work out if he has turned down our 2nd proposal or just the 1st and we are waiting for an answer on the 2nd.
It's a little confusing the way the articles translate

Looks like the majority of Cardiff fans don’t want to lose Davies. They feel he has a lot of potential.

We seem to be linked alongside Besiktas a lot this summer and the Turkish press muddy the waters. They feverishly report that the Turkish clubs are favourites to sign everyone it seems.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Some reports suggesting he’s rejected our improved offer as he doesn’t want to play in second tier.

Find that kind of stuff hard to believe.agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 2:54 pmSome reports suggesting he’s rejected our improved offer as he doesn’t want to play in second tier.
There’s no way we’d be going into a complex deal and spending time agreeing a fee (if that’s even the case), if the player was not interested at all.
I listened to a Ben Foster podcast recently discussing transfers and he was quite clear that before bids get made, there is contact between club / player to gauge interest.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Looks pretty obvious from the links knocking about that we're after a forward that adds a bit of guile (Cabral/the lad at Metz, possibly Churlinov) and one that can play across the front line and add a direct pacey threat similar to Benson (Davies/Konrad).
Plus of course a centre back to add more height at the back.
Those forward positions tend to be the most tricky to complete deals on, so no surprise that they're the ones we're clearly finding most difficult to get over the line.

I think they'll be weird, because we've got the majority of the signings done well in advance so the end of the window will be odd knowing that we aren't desperately scrabbling aroundPremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 12:56 pmCan’t keep track of all this. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Not sure I understand that theory. Right now we are just at an acceptable level, going into the last few weeks of the window desperately needing to fill 3-4 four positions now is no different to previous seasons when we have been going into the last few weeks needing signings.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 3:46 pmI think they'll be weird, because we've got the majority of the signings done well in advance so the end of the window will be odd knowing that we aren't desperately scrabbling around

The difference is we've signed 10? Players already, well in advance of the window closing.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:12 pmNot sure I understand that theory. We're also being strongly linked with several more.
There's a good chance we go into deadline day needing either just the one player, or no one at all and that's going to be odd.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Numerically, you may be right, Newcastle, but a significant difference may be that we have made a number of signings that are definitely NOT journeymen or 'steady' types.
And that might make a difference to prospective signings (all other things being equal, of course - I don't expect they'll sign for poor wages just because it's VK's Burnley project!)

The difference is we have already signed players, rather than just being linked to Andrew Driver and Henry Lansbury.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:12 pmNot sure I understand that theory. Does anybody know how many players we have signed and sold and what fees were involved ( loans not included)
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I think we could do with another CM.
Cork, Cullen, Brownhill, Bastien. Westwood when back.
Of those available, Cork and Cullen are the two most suitable to the deeper role. I'd like us linked to someone else. It's a lot of games. We're an injury to Cullen or Cork away from being weaker.

I just feel we need height, we are going to have a lot of corners this season so it would help if we are a threat from then.

He missed games through not being picked or being injured, not because his body couldn’t cope (or there was nothing to suggest that much that I saw or read). We were often poorer for him not being there.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:47 pmCorrect and cork couldn’t play every game last season, just what happens as you get older legs go
For some strange reason, it wasn’t a dip in form that he had, it was “because his legs had gone”. Hell, he’s not some 18 year old dog that’s dragging its back end about.
Some support in midfield may be a good idea but can we put this nonsense to bed about his legs going?
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I saw him play on Saturday, and his legs were definitely still there!
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Don't think Cork's "legs have gone", he's gunna be a main feature of the team and has started well. Kompany said he wants two players for each position and to me that doesn't seem to be the case in central midfield at the moment but what do I know.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I thought it would be Cork/Cullen
And Bastien/Brownhill
But I think at times we will see three of them play from the start with a Benson/Twine behind two attacking players .
We may vary this quite often this season.
Does VK Fancy Woods or Helm? Not sure
