Walk-on prices

Can't see a thread - sorry if there is already.

Looks like nearly half the games are Cat A and either the same price as last year or actually higher. Where I normally sat in the Longside Upper wings is up from £35 to £37.50, which seems nuts.

Cat B and Cat C prices look fair but only two games at the lowest price.

Sit in the centre then for an extra £2.50 and save £10 on last seasons price

Can’t argue with those prices really.

It’s one of those really, it’s 2022 and that’s the sort of prices you expect tbh.

£40 for a few hours isn’t too bad (if you’re local)

Not sure what others charge these days but £40 or so for Champ games seems high to me. I was expecting a cut, since that's what the club said in the Q&A yesterday.

Looks like we will charge away fans 20,25 and 30.

I presume Reading will be be a class C so we should get £20 tickets down there.

I hope we do charge low pricing for away fans so we get the same treatment. I love the away end being full, any atmosphere is better than nothing

£40 is for the dearest seat in the highest category. For the same game you could sit somewhere else for £25, £30 or £35

Afraid not - we have approached our club regarding a reciprocal deal with Reading but, last I heard, we've had no response which means we won't get £20 at Reading if we don't match that for them.

Sure. I could also not go rather than sit somewhere I'll get wet if it rains! The lowest prices are reasonable, I just think the Longside prices are high for the Cat A games, of which there are too many.

How does the category thing work? Can't really see any logic to it other than derby matches being Cat A.

Can't get my head round Luton being Cat A.

This is another one Burnley FC Supporters Groups had previously won, to get rid of the categories. That was back in the Dave Baldwin days.

Luton has clearly been chosen as cat A as it's the first home game, nothing to do with the opposition.

Wouldn't lower prices to encourage a bigger crowd make more sense for the first game? Can't see it being nearly full at Cat A prices.

Sensible pricing all round.

Well done to the club.

Would suggest that the £40 tickets are few and far between simply because Season ticket holders are in those seats.

Good away pricing too.

I think if you're going to go on the first game, you'll go on the first game. I don't think a few quid is going to make a big difference. If you reduced tickets from £30 to £25 you'd have to sell 20% more tickets to make up the shortfall. It might persuade another couple of hundred but I'm not sure it'd have that big of an effect.

You've got to factor in what fans will spend on food and drink too, even if purely looking at it in financial terms. I don't know, I don't have a ST and assumed I'd go on the Luton game but the prices are making me think again. I might now wait to see how we do at Huddersfield.

A few strange prices like the CF U18s going up in price 3 quid. I know it's STs only in their this season so it's to charge away fans more, but it's still not good for youngsters.

The top price last season was 50 quid so they have dropped it a tenner.

Lets see if it works?

It’s the first home game of the season. Quite obvious really.

Glad to see they're going to be selling tickets in the CFS again. That's an attraction to draw me in to a couple of extra games for sure.

I'd rather go in there too but club says it's full of ST holders, which should be good for atmosphere at least.

Not sure why they bothered announcing CFS matchday prices if you can't buy them, like.

Why is the Hull game not categorised? I need a spare ticket for that match. Perhaps it's free for walk ons?

It's basically announcing away prices, if they didn't announce any prices they would have to match away fans to the Jimmy Mac lower which is cheaper.

It looks extremely expensive to me. Take away the fact we were in the Premier League and rubbing shoulders with big London clubs, we are a small, already poor northern town on the cusp of a recession with inflation sky rocketing.

£40 to watch Luton? In fact I’d suggest that >£30 is too much for a large proportion of our fan base for any game. I don’t buy the argument that it’s an afternoon’s entertainment so people should be happy to pay it.

These prices must surely be aimed at driving season ticket uptake.

Good news for you, you can pay £25 at most to watch any home game, including Luton.

Always seems a bit weird when people complain about ticket prices and to back it up state the highest price and ignore all the others.

It's like every ticket was £50 last season , it wasn't hardly any were. Same this season and the £40 ones

Wouldn't be surprised to see a 4 or 6 game package ticket announced soon which would bridge the gap between walk-ons and ST holders

Exactly. I sit in the JML because that's all I can justify spending on footy.

If you can't justify spending £40 on a game, don't! There are plenty of other options in other areas of the ground.

The other point on this is that whenever there is a 'big game', the most expensive tickets are always the ones that sell out first. Last to sell out are ways the bottom tiers.

They are screwing more out of us old codgers. £22.50 last year in Longside Upper Wings to watch City Liverpool etc £25 to watch Blackpool and Luton. That’s a 10% increase.

They will be offering deals when the crowds start falling away in the New Year.

13500 ST sold

North Stand Upper central = £455 I think from memory so that is <£20 a game.

I think the majority of those seats will be ST holders so the top priced tickets will apply probably to low number of seats anyway.
