Gutted - I thought we were going places with Inchy.

We'll need to make a quick & stellar appointment now...

Heath had no idea how to organise a defence. I remember being disappointed when he left but then excited about Waddle's appointment. Gulp.

I don't think he had much idea at all - without John Ward, who did all the coaching, he looked lost. Let's hope we get a top man to replace him.

Maybe Heath knew he was out of his depth. Always seemed a short sighted decision, but he'd probably be on more money at Everton without the stress, that said, they nearly got relegated that season I think

I had forgotten John Ward was the main man really. Did he go to Bristol City?

Yes and quite a lot of success there.

Remember watching training down at Gawthorpe one day that season. To confirm what Tony says, Heath stood watching whilst John Ward organised everything and took the whole session

I remember Adrian Heat ringing in to Radio Lancs. He was audibly shaken from the lack of backing from the board. Using terms like ‘disgusting’ that Burnley had done nothing to try to encourage him to stay. He clearly felt that he was manoeuvred into leaving. It sounded like he’d been refused something (probably kitty) and had threatened to walk, with an assistants job opportunity at Everton. It was a gamble but when Burnley turned their backs on him, he felt he was left with little option but go.

I remember reading an article, in recent times, where Adrian Heath was pleased to see Burnley doing well in the EPL. He mentioned that, looking back, he now feels he had made a mistake leaving Burnley when he did even though the pull of going back to Everton was too strong.

It’ll be interesting to see the names in the frame for the job alongside Brian Flynn.

I think we can be quite sure there’ll be no left field appointments from Mr Teasdale.

We definitely need a manger proven at this level.
Someone who knows how to get a club out of the third tier.

That just means someone’s had a tenner on him.

Waddle will never come to Burnley, we couldn’t afford his wages.

We should go for the bloke who's doing well at Bury. Sam Turner, or something. Used to play for us apparently.

I wouldn't want Hoddle or Waddle anywhere near our club after that 'Diamond Lights' song.

Didn’t Teasdale announce him as Glen Hoddle ?

Think it was an amalgamation of the two. Either Chris Hoddle or Glen Waddle

Chris Hoddle wasn't it? I remember thinking we had ourselves a real name as Manager and could be in for a good season. It was the first season after I moved to London so was looking forward to the Southern games. Very handy first game of the season.....
