A grand transferred to the foodbank

Post by ClaretTony » Mon Jun 27, 2022 2:54 pm

I've transferred £1,000 to Burnley FC in the Community today for the foodbank, money raised from last season's First Goal Sweep and Fantasy Premier League.

I've been asked to pass on thanks to everyone who has helped raise that money during last season and I would like to add my appreciation to.

The need for the foodbank increases all the time while less people are able to support it, but I'm really proud that we've able to do this again for them and look forward to next season.

Thanks,
Tony

Fantastic Effort, well done everyone. Great cause, sadly foodbanks are more and more necessary these days.

Well done everyone.

As a slight aside, I have often thought that the supermarkets should “sell” food bank vouchers at the till. It would be a lot easier for me (and I’d remember more often) to add £10 to my bill than try to think what an FB could do with most. The FB could then use all the vouchers to get what they need rather than what they are given. The Supermarkets may even sell to them at cost!!!

All supermarket food that gets binned should get donated.

Tony - well done to everyone involved.

As someone who only manages to get to Turf Moor a couple of times a season (and then I normally forget to bring some tins along with me - sorry), is there any way I can make a cash donation to the fund you've just made that donation from?
