Re: The Beach Boys!
Seen them twice live and they opened with 'Do it again' both times- great tune.
Don't Worry Baby still my favourite though

Very Frankie Valli and the four seasons that tune, which came first the chicken or the egg.Vintage Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 11:24 amSeen them twice live and they opened with 'Do it again' both times- great tune.

Coincidentally we went to see Frankie Valli in concert in Scarborough at the weekend.
Let's just say he needed 'a little help' with the lead vocals on some of the songs but still a brilliant show from the 88 year old legend and his new '4 seasons'

Thought the post was referring to Brentford FC players in their last home game?

Re: The Beach Boys!
Great subject and thread. Oddly at the weekend I had my first Beach Boys session for quite a while after watching the Love And Mercy Brian Wilson biopic I had recorded. I concentrated on the mid-60s LPs Today and Summer Nights... when Brian was properly hitting his stride. This gem was on the B side of California Girls, what a double-sider! Let Him Run Wild with a great Brian lead

I got into the Beach Boys through some lad on the school bus always going on about them. How are you by the way longsidetrumpet?
Re: The Beach Boys!
I like the Beach Boys but I remember being on the B coach (remember that?) I think going to Wolves away and they played the Beach Boys all the way and someone pointed out that it was the same song throughout. At the time it sort of felt they had a point.

As mentioned Do It Again is a great song and another of my favourites is Here Today, Gone Tomorrow off Pet Sounds.

I'm fine Tony thanks for asking. Yes I still like me some Beach Boys alongside my soul stuff. Re: The Beach Boys!
My one regret in life is not seeing them live, especially when Carl and Dennis were still with us.
And Brian's vocal range was something else, although he once said that Glen Cambell could reach higher notes when he toured with the band in place of Brian

The first record I ever bought as a child with my saved up pocket money was Good Vibrations.

Re: The Beach Boys!
All about Harmonies and Melody.
Wonderful sounds.
My favourite track is Do it Again.
I’m going to tell you a story. So enthralled by the intro riff of Do it again, my friend recorded it onto some magnetic tape. He then spliced up the tape and made it into loop, so it could be played continuously.
It’s also song that was played endlessly on an educational cruise I went on in late summer 1968, where I met Suzanne Norredam - from South London!
