Last I saw Tarky was signing for Everton. Did it happen? Any info on Mee?
Can’t find anything on line. Thanks in advance

They've both ran their contracts out so unless a club pays a fee then they're our player until then

Palace have signed a lad from Derby and stated his contract starts on July 1st.

Clubs can announce signings but they don’t go through until 1st July.

Suggestion is that Everton are holding back the announcement because of Burnley’s legal threat re their spending but I expect it will be announced very early July.

Not heard anything at all on Ben.

I wonder if Ben will pass a stringent medical following his last injury? It is one thing being fit for your parent club, another passing a medical where everything is checked in microscopic detail.....unless it's a Burnley medical going off some of the previous players we have signed in the past.

Burnley medicals, like other clubs, are extremely thorough, you might try looking at the two we've sort of covered on YouTube. I don't think an injury, from which a player has now fully recovered, will be an obstacle. Ben was very close to being fit for the Newcastle game.

I did wonder if a Premier League team would sign Mee, and I struggled to see who would fancy him. To outsiders he’s an unfashionable and old fashioned CB, from a relegated team and the wrong side of 30.

Presume a newly promoted will sign Mee? Seeing as he’s a freebie who won’t have insane wage demands he’d be a bargain for perhaps a Forest or whoever .

I did say previous, Doc Ivan and his leeches did let some cracks through, also some more recent ones were dodgy, prime example Nahki Wells signed knowing he was having an operation on an ankle injury, unless you can see into the future not many clubs allow such a key deal to happen on a clearly unfit player.

He'd had the op, not having one, and the medicals are so thorough now that there is no way we'd have contemplated signing him had there been any doubts.

They are thorough now, but Wellscwas.never fitbemough for our style of play, a medical on a fit player would have shown that, he wasn't fit when he had the medical he couldn't have been, strapped up and a pin in place.

Players get transferred with injuries quite regularly.
He wasn't the first and won't be the last, so stop droning on about it.

Sorry, just not having that. He was recovering from surgery when he had the medical but that was not considered an issue. Rightly so, not sure he’s had an injury since. Since he signed for us he’s played 182 club games plus internationals so I think your weird theory doesn’t hold much water.

Did he play many for us though ? No because he couldn't be put through the paces required, how can a scan show no scar tissue or weakened muscle etc when a recovery from an.operation is in.place. The Premier league requires extremely fit players especially those who rely on pace, he didn't make the grade, perhaps if he wasn't injured when we signed him he may have made the grade.

Stats for 2017/18 season -
Squad: 20,
Starting eleven: 0,
Substituted in: 9,
On the bench: 11,
Suspended: 0,
Injured: 6

Played 45 mins in the PL.

Maybe, just maybe, he didn't fit in

Maybe just maybe he wasn't quite fit enough for the Premier league but for the championship .

Perhaps if my grandma had b*ll*cks she'd have been my grandad. We'll never know....
Well today they would be able to identify as anything they wanted ,we are not wealthy enough to risk players and the phrase we we will never know sums up the risk.

Wonder if there are other clubs where forum users have a far greater knowledge of players and their injuries than the actual medical staff employed by the club.

I assume the reason Mee left here is for one last big pay packet, I doubt he'll come cheap. He'll likely want a hefty signing on fee and 60-80k a week. Is he worth that as probably a backup? missed alot of games last season, wrong side of 30. Is giving him what he'll want (and likely a 2-3 year contract) really that attractive for a team like Forest who are likely a Championship team next season.

The truth is, he wasn't good enough for the PL when he signed and wasn't at any time during his time here, a truly awful signing who most fans knew would be a failure from day 1. We've come along way in recruitment recently, I'm glad we wont be seeing signings like Juke, Sordell, Crouch, Wells, Stephens, Reid, Lennon. Truly awful awful signings.

Fair point , I’d be amazed if he gets a “ big” payday though . A highly experienced prem CB would be more a big champ club target I’d of thought ? Though seems odd he’d leave for a champ club . Rangers maybe ?

maybe he goes for a League Two player/manager job, seemed to enjoy his role with Jackson. CT said he heard Mee had signed a deal, maybe Kompany didn't want him? I've no idea, money seems the biggest motivator, leave on a free and receive a nice signing on fee, longer contract elsewhere.

Some club will end up paying it, I'm not sure he's worth it though given his latest season.

Think it's important to also understand what a medical is.

It's not just a literal medical where we find out there are no medical or physical problems wrong with the player.

A medical takes into account a variety of factors, such as how many games the player managed over X seasons, whether there is a risk the player could fall short of playing X amount of games over a given contract. It's almost like a risk assessment on the club's investment.
