T20 Lancs vs B'ham Bears Sunday 3rd July - Taxi back to Burnley?

Post by Oo_George » Wed Jun 29, 2022 12:45 pm

Is anybody going to the T20 at Old Trafford on Sunday and fancy sharing a taxi back to Burnley afterwards? Its an 18:30 start and the last train/bus is 22:02 so I won't be on that! TIA!

I can't help with your taxi situation, but what a terrible bit of scheduling by Sky. Lancs have sold loads of £1 kids tickets for this and are now wrongly being lambasted for the time change when it's Sky that have changed it.

No reason whatsoever why it needs to be at 18:30 on a Sunday.

Very true. We saw it all too often in the Premier League, even several weeks in advance was a pain in the backside such is the planning required and costs increasing nearer the time. On this one, we were sure it would remain a 14:30 start so planned a breakfast, and then a few beers afterwards with the last train home easily achievable. Those plans out of the window now as I can't possibly get that train, so I'm stuck with a hefty taxi bill to get home thanks to Sky.

Unless theres anybody going my way! Willing to pay petrol costs or share cost of taxi!! :)

Chris the fixture was always 14:30 / 18:30 subject to change for TV. Yo be fair all games on the last day had the same provision.

It’s a shame as 🌹will get the bad press but as you say completely out of their control.

I think if we had won last Friday at Derby Sky would have picked another fixture but hey ho.

You only need to worry about the last tram home and I could walk home if needed!! Should be plenty of parking close to the ground with it being a Sunday ( Kings Rd) for any clarets now having to drive.

It's more having kids up late on a Sunday outside of school holidays which is the issue for many I think. I'm lucky with the fact I can jump on the met for 5 stops, but I'd be fairly cheesed off if I lived in Burnley and the kids weren't in bed until midnight!

Nowt Lancs can do about it though!
