Useful runs these, only 149 behind now, and a handy knock from Billings.

Some lusty blows from the lower order, but 132 is a big lead for India, especially with England batting 4th, another not out for Jimmy as well.

Commentators can say what they want about that catch, however, without the sound on and just watching the replays ---it was not out!

If that ball had hit the end of his finger tips, effectively trapping his fingers between the ground and the ball, it would have hurt!!

On field umpire’s soft signal was not out and there was enough doubt leaving the third umpire with no option.

On field soft signal decision was out --- which left the third umpire with no option as you state.

No doubt imo, ball clearly hit the ground with no flesh in between, definitely not out for me. But I'm not the umpire, nevertheless bad decision imo.

Once the onfield umpire has given a soft signal of out then the third umpire had to be 100% certain it is not out to change the decision.

I don’t like the soft signal in these circumstances, I’d rather see it left to the third umpire who would have then given it not out.

Sedate progress by India, 37-1 at tea, lead of 169. and England are the team who need to make something happen in this game.

Anderson and Broad trying their level best to haul England back into this match, Kohli in now this could be interesting.

Potts has bowled well most of the summer, like the look of this lad, and he's still only 23, so we'll be seeing a lot of him over the next decade.

Couldn’t agree more. He’s bowled really well in all four tests.

Stokes gets Kohli, but England won't like batting last on this track, and the lead is already past 200.

Things rather drifting in this session, India simply happy to bat time, can't say I blame them considering the state of the game.

250 lead and India with power to add, if England are to win this they'll have to bat really well, because they're going to be chasing a lot of runs.

125/3 at close, lead of 257, India well in command of this test.

India’s performance puts England and NZ in their place. India are a very strong all round side with few weaknesses whilst England’s weaknesses are there for all to see, fragile top order batsmen and a poor spin bowler.

Can't disagree with that, and this test shows how far England need to improve to genuinely compete with the likes of Australia and India.

Top order failed again, and Leach after 10 wickets in the last match has proved expensive and not looked remotely threatening.

India piling on the runs already, lead nearing 300, and they'll be looking to add many more.

Broad does nab a wicket, but England really toiling in the field, and facing a difficult task with the bat when India finally declare or are bowled out.

Just seen the replay, good catch by root. Hopefully we can whittle them out under 400, which would mean a day and half left, could be game on, albeit would be a tall order.

A better morning for England, but India still added 104 runs, and if England are to win this test they'll need to chase around 400 and maybe a few more.

Never rule this England side out, but against this bowling attack that would be some win.

Cue being 12/3 after a few overs. Hopefully we get off to a good start and we’re not reliant on Root and Bairstow.

England are missing Buttler behind the sticks for his reviews.
Foakes and Billings seem to struggle giving the right advice to the skipper.
