Everton have always been an ambitious club……. It’s just that performance has rarely lived up to their spending or their ambitions for one reason or another.

Of the top six, you could have only imagined that Man U might have had an interest but apparently they didn’t v

I think he’s a similar kind of defender to Maguire which is why I couldn’t really see him going there. Probably also one of the reasons he doesn’t get selected for England.

Good luck Tarks you deserve it, you gave everything whilst wearing the famous Claret & Blue,
No one can take the memories of the last few years away.
You’ll always be a Claret.

Leaves us with great respect. Colossus of a centre half.

For me he leaves with nothing but best wishes and huge respect. An absolutely immense player for us and by some distance the best centre half I have seen in a Claret shirt.

Fantastic centre half with a great attitude who deserves to stay in the premier League and reap the financial rewards it offers

Enjoy fighting relegation James, i'll never forget that disrespectful interview he gave whilst still being a Burnley player.

Your getting slated here mate; normally you have plenty to say but this time you are very quiet.

Good player, wish him well, but he won't win a sausage at Everton.
Doesn't need to win them any longer. He can afford to buy his own now with the signing on fee and increased weekly wage

Can't be arsed with the argument, no intention to make this topic about my opinion. I give my thoughts, I don't care how good he was, I wont forget the disrespectful egotistical interview mid season and that's that.

Nick Pope NEVER came out with that interview, he left with his pride intact and his head held high, good luck Nick.

3 months into a relegation scrap season and he comes out with this ego maniac rubbish....

''“The last window is obviously a missed opportunity for me.''

''“But the longer my contract runs down, I feel I gain the control of my career more than Burnley having the control of it, which is what I feel like I need right now.''

''"I want to be able to decide where I am, where I’m going and who I’m playing for. That’s nothing against Burnley, but this is a short career and I’m not getting younger''

Holding a grudge for so long

He wanted to move, he had a good opportunity and the club didn't sell him which also meant that he missed out on a cup winners medal at Leicester.

Meh, he didn't let us down since then, didn't go on strike etc.

He saw out his contract and gave it everything until the end.

Get over yourself man

And for a bit of balance:

"Burnley is a really close club and I like to think I’ve always had a tight relationship with the fans,"

"And I wouldn’t want that to change because I have such a lot of respect for them. I hope they also appreciate that I’ll always do my best for the club, but also that I will want to do the best for myself."

"Just because I won’t sign a new contract, doesn’t mean it takes away from the commitment I have to my current contract."

"I’m coming into my late 20s now and I want to experience as much as I can in the game before I retire."

"So I won’t whinge or not turn up, I just need to deal with it and get on with my football."

If the new players coming in are at least half as dedicated as Tarkowski to the cause we will have got some great players.

Tarks was fantastic for us but the interview he gave about joining Everton was laughable. Ambitious ? Ambitious ? He went to a team who deserved to go down, had an extremely poor defence who will struggle again this season despite his arrival. I know players always say positive stuff about the team they are joining but let's be honest, it did it for more money and a chance to sustain his best possible pay day as a last hurrah until age catches him out and the only way will be down the leagues with less money. His England chances are roughly 0% as he is now clearly not even in the pecking order let alone anywhere near the top of the list. Playing at Everton isn't going to change that one iota.
To be fair, all these interviews are bulls hit.
JT was an absolute rock for us. I hope he has a brilliant time at Everton whilst also hoping they are total crap.

Superb player and a good attitude throughout his time with us. He gave his all and he owes us nothing. Probably the best centre back I’ve seen play for us in all my time watching Burnley. Now go and get yourself back into the England squad Tarky. Thanks for the memories.

It'll be interesting to see whether that happens or not, September is the next round of England fixtures, so not that far away for him to make a claim.

Must admit I thought he’d down tools, or at least be distracted but he did the opposite particularly when Ben Mee was injured. Villa away he was a monster…..it felt as tho he would have loved to ensure we survived even tho he would still have moved on.

Wish him all the best.

That's a weird photo is that. They've made him look tiny. Why have a big bloke shot from the top down like that, stood on a giant badge with nothing to provide any sort of context as to what he is? He could be an ultra realistic Subbuteo piece for all we know.
Why's he not even got boots on?

It's really quite bizarre.
